| Just made our second visit since the new landlords have taken over. The Rack and Manger is in a good location between Winchester and Stockbridge, so makes a nice meeting place for people from different directions. Under the previous landlord it had reached the point where it was definitely on our 'avoid' list, but that has now changed completely. We were made very welcome on our first visit, and now having returned for a second time we were recognised and greeted as 'regulars'. The menu is proper traditional pub food, with a pie of the week, sausage of the week, grills, chilli, ham & eggs, jacket potatoes, and even an all day breakfast. Food is freshly cooked to a high standard and served piping hot. We think it is very good value taking into account quality and portion size. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis, and are sure that this will soon become the busy and thriving pub that it used to be a few years ago. sandr - 31 Jul 2008 21:34 |
| The Rack & Manger is now under new management as of June 2008 and now serves great pub food at very reasonable prices. Big menu with a great selection of dishes and a frequently changing specials board. A very warm welcome from Andy, Sharon and family. Very nice to find a REAL pub for a change with good beer.
