| Went in here a couple of weeks after it opened in November for a Monday night drink. It was fairly busy and the Rev James was good, but the refit is souless, and also not finished off very well, which is indicative of the whole place - going on the previous comment. | Has now been rebranded as "Salt", still a Brains house, but all up-market and trendy. Went in for lunch last friday, and basically it was hopeless. Service was at a snails pace, food was grossly overpriced for what it was, I mean, nearly �12 for a cold and very average steak with chips and a couple of vine tomatos, atmosphere was morgue-like, and the air temperature was about -2 degrees. Brains bitter was the only redeeming factor... Don't know what it's like on a night, but don't bother for food on a lunchtime, there are far better options eleswhere in Aber'. | I remember seeing Robert Pires break his ankle on TV here. Anyway very tight gents toilets, tighter than a shower I once had in Nuremburg. Good food, friendly staff and good beer. Great central location, a must visit in Aberystwyth. DeggyT - 4 Nov 2006 21:49 |
| Had a good and reasonably priced meal in here last weekend, and a nice pint of Brains SA too. Good service and the upstairs seating gives a lovely view. | The best pub by far in the centre of town. Brains keg MILD is surprisingly good and so is the cheap food. A good atmosphere love the big wide open windows; upstairs the unusual balcony area evokes a relaxing sensation. Children are welcome which is a rareity in Aberystwyth.
