Went there for Sunday lunch recently. A lovely pub, shame the management don't make more of it.

Nice ales but very expensive, ditto soft drinks.

The major disappointment was the poor quality of the roasts chosen. Reminded me of industrial catering provided in large company canteens.

Won't be going back.

We have been going to this pub about once every 3 months or so after walking our dog at Dinton Pastures. Beer and soft drinks are expensive, but it is a lovely pub. Late last month (Sept 2013) we went there on a Sunday for a late lunch. Ordered a pint of real cider and a half of coke. £6.80 !!
Went on to order 2 toasted paninis. The roast beef panini had about 70% coverage of meat filling in it. The rest was just toasted bread. Both breads were of poor quality and was overly toasted as to be slightly burnt. The salad accompanyment was just a bunch of green leaves thrown on the plate.
A pint of Swordfish was about the only good thing about this visit. We will not be eating at this pub again.

Hard to to fault the Wheelies if you want good honest English pub grub and an excellent choice of ales. Kevin and Helen are proper old fashioned publicans who have been ensuring a warm atmosphere for the past 10 years. This place has been really improved by the smoking ban because it has a traditional low ceiling and real fires.

A couple of minor quibbles - it would be good to see those fires lit a bit more often in the winter. Also perhaps we could relax the dining room rules in the evening to allow us to take our 17 year old daughter in the evenings.

Still excellent. Nice lunch there today, the place was busy but not crowded. Good ales - 7 of 8 were on, the 6X and the Old timer were sampled and in fine form. Added bonus, 10% of draught Wadworth's beers for CAMRA members!
