A sad indictment on Ashford is that this Wetherspoon is pretty much your only offering for a (not so great) ale in the town. Not a bad building but the interior is indistinguishable from any other Wetherspoons. There used to be so many more pubs in the town but now they are pretty thin on the ground and of the few that are left (like the George or Tap Room) this is the only one listed on here.

Large pub, beer garden at rear, very busy on our visit. Had an 'Affinity' craft beer [quite tasty].

Large roomy Wetherspoon with a pleasant back room. Limited range of guest ales considering the size. pleasant enough.

popped in last month for a pint and directions. The supervisor was very friendly and helpful, the pub itself is quite a mediocre wetherspoons and was pretty dead for a sunday afternoon,7/10

I have had issues with this place in the past (including a complete absence of real ales on one occasion and just one on during a previous festival), but I have to say that it was fine today. It had a good slection of beers on from the current International Beer Festival (including the Finnish and Australian porters), and a relaxed Sunday afternoon atmosphere. All-in-all, not too bad for a town centre pub with a bit of a dodgy reputation.
