Went in a few times recently as I live nearby. Have to say that it has improved a lot. Still a bit like drinking in an airport lounge though bassaleg - 23 Mar 2010 22:10 |

Dull, dull, dull, dull, dull. Get back on the train at Kenton station. ye73812 - 17 Oct 2006 23:36 |
Ah the Travellers Rest Myself and the other half (boss) visit this pub frequently for one reason alone. It's dead. If you want food and drink poured quickly and without atmosphere - then this is the place. the recent refrurb was overdue - but they've ripped all the character out of it. I have to say that the service is crap, the drink selection (when they have any) is crap but the food (for boil in the bag stuff) is quite good. I would suggest going further afield - say the Castle on the Hill for example. A much better example of what pubs should be like. anonymous - 10 Sep 2006 12:04 |
Its in a very good position and decent enough for "just the one" on your way into town. But its hardly a pub really, more a restaurant with bar attached. garyatthebar - 15 Jun 2006 07:51 |
