Appaling Bank holiday meal. waited over an hour for food, despite only one other table being occupied. Food was rushed, chips undercooked, steak pie just tasteless meat and gravy with an overdone puff pastry crust. Cheap, frozen food done badly. Would never go back. I suspect they were under staffed;perhaps a little greedy about bank holiday rates? Certainly had the feeling that the kitchen was trying to wing it.

This really is a little gem of a pub, tucked away in a quiet northamptonshire village - it manages to cope with being a good food venue and a traditional village pub. Food is excellent value and fantastic quality. Likewise the real ale is well looked after and of good quality. Always 1 guest ale on tap with 2 regular Charles Wells brews.
I would recommend the Sunday Lunch! Unusual to have a choice of more than the standard beef/pork/lamb.

Watch out for the one eyed dog!

A nice village pub now under new management (mid 2004) and looking much better for it after a series of short-stay landlords.

Good range of well kept beers and lagers, home-cooked food, friendly staff.

Small beer garden and parking for about twenty cars.
