What a great pub !
Very cosy, and quirky, with a frog and Cricket theme, with a lot of cricket memorabilia.
Well kept bitters from Gales , plus guest ales.
Great banter from some friendly clientele who you can have a good bit of banter with , as well as v. friendly staff.
Must try the food soon.
I think it would be great sitting outside watching the cricket on a summer evening with a pint of bitter.
The mural in the gents is gloriously Un-PC - well done !!!
If you're looking for some great beer and food, coupled with a liberal dose oif 'Britishness' then this is the place for you !

Visited at the end of March on a Sunday lunchtime and had a pleasant Sunday Roast. Chef/Landlord even came out afterwards to make sure everything was okay with the meal. Very friendly waiting staff and good selection of beers. After dinner we visited the garden with the kids and they enjoyed the play equipment while we enjoyed the sun. Well worth a visit.

not happy at all . made a booking for my husbands surprise 40th. was promised lamb spit roast/ bbq menu and prices via email. nothing ever sent. just had a call telling me my date has been booked by someone else. have a huge nightmare now everyone has an invite etc kids all excited. all landlady could say was i had not been in touch! well thats because i was waiting for the menu!? to this she replied she was too bust at christmas. if course she was thatd why i thought i'd wait before reminding her about the lack of peomused info! a phonecall before giving the date away would have been the obvious thing to!

Now in the Good Beer Guide 2012 and permanently serving 5 real ales. Live music is on 3 times a week (Saturdays, Sundays & Mondays). New Menu launched 13th October 2012, and for Sunday lunch its recommended to book esp. as the winter is upon us and you can no longer sit outside to eat!
