Very nice pub, my family and I ordered a Ploughmans board, which comes with extra thick slices of ham, blocks of cheese, bread, onions, pickle, etc, and also ordered a Sunday Roast, and a bowl of Nachos. It was quite filling and we would definitely go back there again! Normally most pubs give you basically a bag of chips and small amount of dip for 5 but one bowl was enough to fill me up!
There are 2 zones for parking up on the hill, and they have lovely and friendly bar staff. It can be a little difficult to know which is the right turn to take but that goes for all of High Beech really. Would highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely dreadful, rude staff, drinkers (locals) are rude and unfriendly. Staff cannot be bothered to help in anyway. Ask for food and you might as well have asked them to climb everest. Bad, bad bad. Don't bother.

Really unfriendly staff. If u r not a local they look down on you. Very unwelcoming pub. Hopefully this was just a one off and it's not like this all the time. Lovely area. Looks great from outside and nice grounds. Shame about the atmosphere and the bar staff.

Lovely location, but prices too steep for what you get.
Miniscule sandwiches are 4.75 amd a bowl of chips with about eight chips in was 2.50. Two beers 7.00.
No wonder pubs are going out of business. If this one didn't have a garden and stunning view it would be on its knees.
Bob-cut waitress v. friendly to us today as opposed to a previous comment, but there is a very dour fellow in the bar who looksa as if a close elative has just died.

large pub with a in a nice setting near epping forrest.
Had the sunday Lamb roast, dry meat, chewey potatoes, under cooked parsnips, pretty poor.
Also seems to have a bit of a wasp problem at the moment in the beer garden
