Visited recently on a 2 night break. Had seen it was an Old English Inn so expected Greene King IPA only and average service. How wrong was I? This place is an absolute gem. The accomodation was good, but the food and beer was excellent and served by smiling and helpful staff. I don't agree that the food is expensive as coming from Kent it seemed cheap compared to pubs near us and we certainly got value for money. Highly recommended.

The best place to have a bite of food or eat out in the area. The views are incredible, the food very tasty (beware, food a bit expensive but you probably pay for the view as well), and a good selection of drinks including pumps, bottles and wines. I really great place to relax after a walk on Cleeve Hill. Bar staff were friendly enough, although perhaps could do with a smile, otherwise and excellent place to eat and drink.

I meant - of course: -
Went in last year - again, pending a funeral, sadly.
Very pleasant place in the early evening. As noted, the view is very impressive.
Good spread of customers - those I spoke with friendly, and keen on the pub.
Staff - of those who served me - were very good - pleasant, helpful, smiling..

Would I go back again?
Yes.

Computer's orthographic function obviosly AWOL tonight.

Incidentally - for Pub Quiz aficionados - Cleeve Hill is understood to be the nearest Hill to London over 1000 feet [304.8 metres for the youngsters] in height above sea level.

Perhaps one of the finest views from a pub in the country.Great outside seating and terrace with gas heaters, useful if you are a smoker since the entire establishment is non-smoking.Well kept Greene King ales friendly staff and good service. Food a little expensive by pub standards but this is a hotel. Highly recommended for al fresco eating(and drinking!).

Nice pub. Great view over Cheltenham and the Vale of Gloucester - especially on a summer's evening when the sun is setting.
