Good beer but really annoying that the sign outside says Restaurant but they don't do food, oh and the Fat Frog across the road is no more

An excellent pub. Did mean to visit 2 or 3 other in the area but stayed here longer than I intended it was so good.

Every time I go in this pub it never fails to impress. If eating or drinking, and it caters for both to a high standard, it is well worth a visit.

You have to walk up a few steps to get into this pub and as soon as you walk through the door the bar is immediately in front of you. Theres a separate dining room on the right and a great piece of stained glass with the pub name in it. On the left hand side are a few settles, tables and chairs. Plenty of stuff around the walls relating to the pub which has apparently been around since the 1830s, I suspect its not changed that much since. Six handpumps on the bar, five on selling Ironbridge Pale and Gold plus one each from Stationhouse, Hobsons and Three Tuns. I had a pint of the Ironbridge Pale which tasted very good even though it looked a little hazy (Ive had several beers from the Ironbridge brewery and they all seem to struggle to clear fully). I was on my way down into Ironbridge and was therefore in the car, so I could only have one. The car park is interesting to say the least. You have to back out on to the road that passes the pub. Its very narrow at this point and so its traffic light controlled. You have to scoot out as soon as the lights change or you get caught facing the wrong way with a stream of cars heading towards you. Great fun. Its a good pub is this, well worth a visit.

Excellent for beer and food. All the beer is well kept and usually local breweries. When you walk in the bar is right in front of you and a lot of the locals tend to stand there, turning to see who is coming in when the door opens. This, I agree with Mark_J, can make it feel a little like entering the Slaughtered Lamb, but I have only found the locals and the landlord friendly to new faces. There is no mobile phone signal available in the pub, which can be a bonus.
