user reviews of the Millbridge Inn, Plymouth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Popped in early on a saturday evening and the place was very busy.
Not really a good time for us as we couldn't get a decent seat.
Pint of Doombar was good but for £3.50 a pint i thought that was a bit steep for this part of Plymouth.

5/10

This pub is great. Always friendly. Good ale (Tribute/Jail Ale) and cider (Addlestones). Food is good at decent prices and the live music is good.

The thing with the Millbridge is it doesn't try to be anything it isn't. Firkin up the back passage indeed. Millbridge is otherwise devoid of decent pubs - East Stonehouse and North Road West pubs are far worse and dangerous so most decent locals and drop-outs pop in here to talk rubbish and get all smiley - hey it's no bad thing! The beer and the cider is very good and quite how this has not been a regular Real Ale entry in the guides is beyond me. Not had the food (if there is any) but the craic is normally friendly and very busy

Well worth a visit if you are up for the "8 before 8" challenge - the record is 8 pints in 8 minutes 58 seconds !

You are also presented with an "8 before 8" T-Shirt for your troubles on completetion of the task.

FInally a pub that encourages drinking by running the 8 before 8 competition! A nice change from the anti-binge drinking efforts elsewhere.
