user reviews of the Raven Hotel, Ballaugh

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Locals pub on a corner of the TT circuit. Many pictures of competing motorcycles line the walls. The bar area has a traditional tiled floor, with lots and jugs displayed above. To either side are carpeted areas with seating. Okells Bitter & Alt were the 2 ales on offer. Unfortunately, a large gathering of flies could be found under one particular beam.

Stayed at campsite nearby and enjoyed some great beer whilst watching the TT. On the negative side DO NOT have their breakfast, by far the greasiest, worst tasting breakfast I have ever come across (no idea what was in the sausages!!) and the evening food was average at best. One other thing was the landlords opinion towards foreign bikers watching the TT, he moaned "speak bloody english" to us about a bunch of French lads getting some beer in, we all cringed a bit. Would like to see the pubs takings if no foreign visitors were there and to me one of the great things about the TT is how far people come from to watch it. Like I said is you just want a beer then great but be prepared for an "Alf Garnet" landlord and below average food.

Pub with a village Inn feel to it on the TT course, and close to the bus stop on the Peel Ramsey road. Enjoyed Okells Ravens Claw and a green beer from Stonehenge called Sign of Spring.
