full last night when i visited, but that was a friday night. the last visit prior to that was on a thursday about two weeks ago and surprisingly, this place, which used to be guaranteed to be heaving, was only one third full.

i can't fault the service on the last two occasions, but you'd never say it was an exceptionally friendly place.

This place has gone so downhill. My partner and I were the first customers there today at twelve. The barman was rude and almost hostile to my partner and then when I paid £1.30 for crisps - extortionate - the barman was unbelievably rude. At this point we just left and went to another bar next to Charing Cross which was friendly. Why be rude when the place is empty. Apparently a lot of other gay men have found the same. Comptons should be careful, unless it sorts out the basics of good quality service then I can see it closing!

WHAT HAS HAPPENED ? Awful !!! Bar Staff with absolute attitude. Not too busy when I walked in, but took an eternity to be served. One barman looked at me, I asked for a pint and he sneered at me as he was wiping the bar down telling me 'don't you think I'm busy at the moment ?'. Stop mincing around in ripped tops discussing each others facial hair and concentrate on the customers paying over the top prices for not brilliantly kept bitter.

Has to be the most unpleasent experience you could ever wish to be in, exspensive drinks range which is very limited to bargain basement boose from tesco's, draught beer that give's you the s--ts, because they are so drug fu-ked they can't be bothered to clean there line's properly, I have never come across so many bar staff with so much attitude, get over yourselves, tops off or not you all probably have tiny cocks anyway, your are on minimum wage you bunch of fuc--ng tossers. As I predicted 15years ago bars are now more poly A sexual, open to everyone, far more interesting is it to be chatting to some blond rugby type hunk, than exchanging make up tips with some freak in a policemans outfit. GET OVER YOURSELVES.

Have to agree with the last few comments, back in town this last week and what has happened to the service in Comptons, very poor, quite unfriendly and very pricey..seemed quite quiet as well...prices have shot up, maybe its part of the new owners aims to give an excuse to straighten it up? A very poor pub in soho now compared to many other places.-
