This pub no longer has it's own brewery which was the only reason to visit lovesong - 30 Jan 2014 12:22 |

One of the worst meals I have ever had in Chiswick. We went on a Sunday night and I understand that maybe the Roast dinners would not be the best, but that did not stop the staff on duty trying to sell them. We ordered the lamb and the beef roast. Now normally I am not one to comment but this really has to be noted. The lamb, although asked for rare was tough as old boots and the same with the beef. Now surely if it was late and the roast was not fit for consumption, just say this, but no they insisted it was okay. and it was one of the driest well done roast I have ever tasted! And it gets worst when saying to the complacent if not rude staff, that this was unacceptable, they said sorry but the food they served was a 'Carvery' and by now was past its best. Now I understand paying £5 for a carvery is normal, but when your paying £12.50 you expect more. Now even when the food was sent back and the manager on duty apologized and said we could have any starter as the Kitchen was closed. Think how upset we were when asked to pay at the end of the meal for said starter, when we only chose it from a small bunch of options available as they had failed to provide the appropriate food to the standard that was required. And the staff was rude and unapologetic I would say never ever go to this restaurant if that's what they even try to call it, and will go out if my way as a resident of Chiswick to put off any of my friends and locals ever visiting this establishment again! northernbard - 18 Mar 2013 04:08 |

Not overly busy for a Saturday afternoon but I'm sure it fills up in the evenings. Good range of local & non-local beer. Only one house brew was on - the Lamb Dark, but it came out ruddy - from looking at the website it was Lamb ale at 4.2%. Not bad but a few more of their brews would be needed to tempt me back - can't believe they were all drunk on Friday night... Booze_Allen - 7 Mar 2013 21:22 |
