This place has had a bit of a makeover. We resorted to here after our we found the Pen Factory and the Clove Hitch both closed. They now serve a couple of real ales - Box Steam Tunnel Vison & Conwy Honey Fayre. There is also a selection of craft beers on keg. So the beer selection is much improved. The place was far quieter than my previous visit. But this was a Sunday lunchtime visit. Still very much a student pub.

No real ales as its a student chain pub, however usual suspects on tap, good food for a decent price (to look after those students). Shows live football but is big enough to find a table out the way.

Studenty type pub in a building that feels a bit like a warehouse and looks like a Lidl from the outside. At lunchtime yesterday, it was busy with most people there to watch the live football on the multitude of TV screens. Most appeared to be students, with John Moore's University nearby. Tried the rhubarb and custard Brothers cider which was poured from a tap with cordial added. No real ales.

This pub has the famous painting the Scream as a pub sign which is probably quite apt; its the kind of place you either love or it makes you scream. A big open plan drinking space on two floors with an outdoor area. General purpose industrial dcor in dark colours with a mix of seating in almost every style ever used in bars and pubs. Four pool tables spread around the downstairs room. Keg beers and pre-mixed spirits very much the order of things here. Bar service was fine but as it was before the 9pm BOF watershed the place wasnt too busy with its under 30 target punters, even so I did notice a few unfinished drinks left about the place. On the plus side I did find 5p on my seat!

This is a great student pub. Good value offers, specially on Thursday and Saturday nights. And the food is really nice too, very quick service. The staff are friendly and the Sunday night quiz is good fun. My favourite pub in Liverpool - and I nearly forgot to mention the DELICIOUS strawberry cider, mmmm!
