This is really nice now. It's always been a nice pub on and off over the years - just a shame for some time it was spoilt by the usual Harefield element. The photo of the "Pickle Jar" needs to be changed to reflect the new name. Didn't have any food when visiting, just a quick drink but the menu looked reasonable. Staff were pleasant. Will definitely be returning.

You can not fault the place, now called The Harefield. The menu is great, with a good choise and everything is freshly made, not a microwave in sight. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to going back soon.

Five Stars. Harefield deserves somewhere nice to avoid the CT and thugs. Great. Well dome!

What a turn-a-round. Cool interior without being a 'ponsey' London refurb pub, a great menu with prompt service, the Sunday roast is a must with the best gravy by far!! It also has amazingly friendly bar staff who do table service when not busy. Some
ecletic background music that is audible but that you don't have to shout over. Can't be bad

Revamped, renamed and now re-opened as The Harefield.
Early days yet so I will report again in a couple of weeks.

i was in there a couple of weeks ago. the smell in the toilets was revolting. i think they need to hang a flatulent pig in there for an air freshener

The correct name of the pub is the Pickle Jar, as evidenced by the photo I have just uploaded. It has had a few names over the years and has always been a bit of a strange pub. I recall back to when it was run by Bernard who at times went beyond the no t-shirts rule and wouldn't let people in without a tie.

When a 20year old says "Don't go there, it's full of kids!" One has to think.... Very aggressive atmosphere. Do not take your mother....

Scott must be the landlord as my experience in the pub is very different. Full of a moody cliquy bunch that seem ready to fight with the least provocation. Decor shabby, Service area very small and generally messy and unkemt outside.

Normally full of kids (under ten!).

Good atmosphere, good beer. Popualated by well natured heavy drinkers. A very locals pub, but polite and cheery to new visitors.
Especially if you like a sing-song. Roll-out-the-barrel!!
