What can you say. One of the less awful Wetherspoons pubs.

I would say that this is one of the better wetherspoons establishments.
I liked the open planned layout with plenty of comfortable seating.
Food and drinks have always been up to a good standard too.
9/10

Typical busy town centre (well nearly) Wetherspoons pub.
Big and spacious.
Good choice of beers/real ales (at least 6 on).
Bar staff very friendly and helpful despite being under pressure.
Had to wait over 30 minutes for food.
One or two punters a bit worse for wear.
Disappointing to see adults, with young children, playing drinking games.
Very clean toilets.

Enjoyed O'Hanlons Yellowhammer and Blackawton Exhibition while on a visit for the recent beer festival. Both in good condition. Otherwise a typical spoons house.

Typical open-plan Wetherspoons pub in the town centre. From what I remember (after one too many in the cider bar), it was very busy on the Friday evening. Real ales on offer included Blackawton Westcountry Gold, Bays Gold, Greene King Abbot Ale and South Hams Re-Session. The cider was Weston's Organic Vintage.

not the most exciting spoons offering in the world but the ale was well kept and the selection good, 7/10

All right, so it's a Wetherspoons. So it gets more than a few of the kind of drinkers that you wouldn't necessarily want to engage in conversation (or, indeed, meet in a dark alley). But you don't HAVE to drink there! If you're looking for a genteel, chi-chi boutique-y atmosphere you're obviously in the wrong place. But there's a wide selection of ales, they're generally very well kept, you can try before you buy, and it's cheap - admittedly, the probable reason that it's so busy all the time. And the majority of drinkers are more than likely very lovely people. I know I am...

Agree with previous message - and the staff are personality-less, like most W'Spoons. 'pubs'.

This pub is full of DSS types with riotous kids. Avoid it.
