Now under new management.They appear to be trying and have certainly tidied up from the previous people.

A place to be avoided.No atmosphere, in fact no nothing.Not very welcoming at all.

Good live music every weekend and is getting better all the time.

Crack den that serves beer would be more sppropriate.
The owners of this place should be locked up. Its the absolute pits of a place. It looks like half of Highpoint Prison are out on day release and drinking in this pub.
Avoid like the plague.

previous review from neill in 2004 was when the scarlet pimpernel was a hungry horse pub, since then the place has suffered a deep decline.
it is absolutely filthy, not sure about any food that might be on offer, would'nt chance it !!
