Definitely a pub serving food. Only real ale on was Greene King IPA. We did not stay.

This pub got a new landlord in 2011 and it has never looked back. The food is now really nice and clean and there are even some decent bitters available.
It could do with a lick of paint here and there but don't let that put you off.
I had a big bucket of ribs, sausages, chicken wings etc and it was great. Much better quality food than it used to be and still at a great price.
Highly recommended.

we stopped here for lunch. it looks very nice on the outside and inside. looked like a proper restaurant. menu looks scrummy but a big dissappointment when the food arrived.
the peas are yellowish that it looks it's been reheated so many times. the bbq bucket is a disgrace. the chicken wings are so thin and so hard that you will think it's been reheated again ad again. same as the sausage.
on your way out, you will get a breeze of smokers at the door which appeared to be staff. at least 3 of hem were having a smoke by the entrance. charming.
maybe we just had a bad day. we might come back to try again

Our meal can only be described as aeroplane food that had been left in the microwave for way too long. Vegatarian pasta came with chicken, was told a new pasta was being cooked however it was the same dish reheated and they had still not removed all the chicken. Would NOT recommend and will not be going back.

I went in hear earlier this year and chose the duck from the menu. It was horrible; tasted as though it had been fattened up of kitchen scraps.

like a licensed mcdonalds, wander round to the Toad it's much better

MA Family Pub of the Year.
|
8 of us went to this pub today, 2 of them grandchildren 8 & 6. Meal was really good value and very nice. The children had a great time as there is a clown and a face painter on a Sunday. When we were leaving the children wanted to feed the ducks and the pub gave us a tub of food for them at no cost. We had a great time. Staff were really friendly too. Will certainly be going back.

OK, 'meals' before anyone else picks it up.

Nice Pub - as long as you have eighteen children. And lots of tattoos. And live in a caravan. And a dog, on a rope. And don't understand that pubs who serve 2 eals for a tenner do so because they have to. Hopeless. Shame as it's a great location - troube is it's just too big for anyone to have the money to do it properly.
How about a dog fighting night? Would go down well with the punters....

Very family-oriented, well-kept garden and a great duck pond. Food was tasty and the service was very friendly. The landlady takes rescued birds from the likes of WADARS and this is to be encouraged. Three real ales, not a particularly exciting range, but all in good nick. Will certainly go back.

Nice garden in the summer but the food is terrible.
|
Standard issue Brewer's Fayre pub, good for families with kids, nice duck pond, a couple of real ales but not a boozer or good real ale pub (agree with Uncle_Dunkel)
|
Family pub......oh well. Has seen many refits over the years and has a nice feel. I enjoyed my visit but here but moved on quickly (thanks Uncle_Dunkel)

Great location, especially if you are a family outing and the sun is shining. Beer is fine but the last time I was there I walked out because nobody seemed to want to take my food order and when they did they allowed some guy to muscle to the front of the queue.
|
Food and familly orientated establishment with a small menagerie. If you are into beer, carry on to the Red Lion.
|
Good attractive pub to take kids for large garden with play area and ducks on the pond, on Sundays in summer they often have a clown. Pub can get very busy on sunny days when you can end up waiting a while to be served

I give it 10 coz its a great ampmesphire
