There is no side to this place; it's a regulars pub; the beer is kept very well and the glasses are always clean. The entertainment is provided by the patrons, who seem to have known each other since they were nippers. Most pubs used to be like this. All in all a little gem of a place,

Been back to the winner, as it's known by the locals, and it's still a great little pub. Prices are still very good. 3.00 for fosters and it's a good pint. They have St Austells Tribute which was a brilliant pint at 2.65. Run by the same family but the scary ferret on a Tuesday night has gone phew. Will definitely be back next time i'm up this way.

a great local pub for people who hanker back to the good old days when a pub was a pub with good beer in simple clean surroundings at a reasonable cost.where the only trouble you get is enjoying yourself to much.also serves the best beer locally, and too their credit support local events and teams .and before you think im gushing too much the mens toilet is twinned with ice station zebra, but spotless.all in all a tonic against the souless moneypits many call their local.

LOCALLY KNOWN AS THE WINNER IT HAS BEEN RUN BY THE SAME FAMILY FOR OVER 74 YRS. IT'S NOT STRANGE. IT'S JUST A PUB WITHOUT ALL THE FANCY RUBBISH YOU GET IN SO CALLED "PUBS" THESE DAYS. YOU'LL NOTICE IF YOU LOOK CAREFULLY ENOUGH THAT ABOVE LADIES IT ALSO SAYS SALOON BAR & ABOVE GENTS IT SAYS PUBLIC BAR.NOT BAD PRICES FOR THE AREA. SKY TV & DARTS BOARD IN THE PUBLIC BAR.NICE & QUIET IN THE SALOON IF YOU WANT A CHAT.CIGS OVER THE BAR NOT IN AN OVER EXPENSIVE MACHINE. I RECKON IT'S BRILL

I have to agree with spawny that it is this kind of place. Strange and disapproving. However the jukebox is entertaining

This is an extremely confusing pub. On entrance there are 2 doors, one saying ladies and one saying gents. However you can indeed enter on both sides, the gents side has a jukebox so plenty of choices of music, including that robbie williams
