Gone downhill since the landlord passed on. The 3 ales are now one and that is usually Deuchars. With the White Horse being upgraded, can't see myself returning

Very pleasant indeed. Friendly bar staff, reasonable pub grub, 3 rotating ales from the S & N portfolio. Guvnor has done a good job in reviving the fortunes of the pub from its previous hell hole ambience

This pub after the fire has become The Railway. They have done a decent job in tidying it up as well. Went in last night for the first time and very pleasant it was too. A nice stop off en route home from the station across the road.

Closed for a refurbishment, can only improve as and when it re-opens.

Popped in back in Jan, and the pub was freezing could even see my own breath. Only L Pride available on the ale front, 5/10

Terrible pub! Place is full of drunken idiots that spend most of the evening going back and forward to the left cubicle and then sniffing loudly all night!! Landlord short gobby Londoner is fully aware of what is happening and all that is said is 'keep a low profile boys'. Back garden reeks of weed as everyone stands under the lean-to to smoke it. Food id non existent as no-one in their right mind would go in there to eat!

not the best pub in witham would only give it 3out of 10 food only just eatable not bad if had bad day in the cityand need one on way home

Visited Sunday lunchtime, reasonable roast eaten.
Sadly no bitter available, reading previous comments here, this was probably just as well.

The beer was off, full of loudmouth idiots, and the barstaff were not that much better. Beware of being short changed as well. Awful place, and definately not one to recommended

Infested with chavs is about right. Service is ok, but language from the punters is often unbelievably bad. I'm no vicar, but I'm uncomfortable with the shouting and swearing in there. Manager/Staff should have a word and put an end to it. Certainly not a family atmosphere, just a place to have a drink while waiting for a train.

Horrible beer. Probably bearable for a lager drinker but if you like proper beer avoid it like the plague.

Sour beer, infested with chavs & their offspring, truly awful.

Food and service are really good. not had a bad meal,you are always made welcome.
