This used to be a great little pub until recently as a temporary manager has moved in here and destroyed it. No one wants to hear about your lesbian antics Jadi, no one wants to know how you will have jaw ache from seeing you lesbian lover on holiday. And no one is interested in your collection of marital aids. and no, no one wants to physically fight you., they want you to leave and the sooner the better.

Visited 7th Feb 2015 11.30am

Popped in for a quick half. Ale wise they had Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen and Robinsons Trooper on tap.

As I'm not a fan of GK IPA and OSH I settled for a half of the Trooper. £1.75 a half, the bar staff made good effort to dispense a proper measurement.

The beer was in average condition, very slight vinegary tone, think the beer was just going past best. Too cold as well.

I noticed no less than 4 gaming machines and a duke box. Pub is probably lively of a evening. More for your lager drinking youngster.

No real beer on so stuck with Newcastle Brown. Pub was quiet but it was early evening for this visit, seemed OK but difficult to tell. Shame no real beer though as I was actually recommeneded this place.

found this place a good pub and at 2-70 for a 4.5 vol beer was quite cheap compare to queens head were i visted 18 months ago which charge 3-10 for hsd in december 2008. i know which pub i would choose i though the marlborough head was a great pub to drink in. would go again

Bog standard boozer with a massive beer garden. Not normally got any interesting ales on.

A great little boozer with a massive beer garden, the place seemed to take a dip under the old manager but the new guy seems alright.

I had a great night in there friday, the band were absolutely amazing!

Keep up the good work guys!

Good place to a have a few lagers and watch the football. Don't expect much else from this pub though.

really like this place. does exactly what it says on the tin. No pretentions, its not up itself, just an honest boozer. This place tries really hard and always has something going on. Give it a chance on one of the live music nights you will be pleasantly surprised.

I was here on Staurday night to watch the dismal Andorra v England footy match. The pub was rammed but we managed to get there in time to get a good quiet spot, with a seat, in front of one of the many TVs. The round was cheap and there were a couple of decent quiz machines.

There's a large covered smoking area out the back and a lovely, good sized garden for when we get a bit of sunshine!

I think I'd go back again to have a beer in the garden, or to watch a match again, wouldn't want it as my local though.

My regular - I love it! The atmosphere is amazing when there's a band on and the staff are lovely.

Great student haunt

A reasonable pint of GK IPA at 2:35 a pint (cheap for Farnham!). Staff very amicable and chatty (not bad for Farnham either!)

Had a meal here the other day. Staff are very friendly and well trained. Brilliant value for money meals. John Smiths was refreshing as was the Pedigree. The place has changed for the better since the smoking ban. I'm a smoker and it was lovely to sit down in a smoke free pub to eat. The garden is a good size with plenty of tables with huge rain/sun parasols. I'm looking forward to the august bank holiday with the family here.

Could do with extending its ale selection beyond GK IPA - or maybe I've just been unlucky when I've looked in.

rather like the hogs head, staff seem friendly
good garden to sit out and have a chat pool tables small.

I pop in here now and then for a quick drink when i have a break,
good sitting out in the garden chewing the cud.
Neil the manager is really nice to chat to.
he has always got time to speak to you if hes not busy.
Beers ok, although I prefer the 7 stars, you do get those barflys in here which is quite annoying.
the toilets could do with a clean.

Never been a great pub but fine for Sky and pub crawls, cleaned up a lot over the last couple of years and garden (was the old back yard) quite big. Seen a few rock bands here over the winter, beer mostly very good, used to be cheapest pub in Farnham and that probably clouds my judgement.....

nice pub, been in town while while am working this way.
great bar staff, seems frendly, I was drinking in pub down the way, now in here, beers ok, good atmosphire.

This is more like it... Friendly barstaff, good atmosphere, great garden for the summer, live sport, live music (which may not be great, but is a good laugh). Put this on your pub-crawl list - or just stay in here all night.

A bit more lively than the recent past but seems to be attracting some..ermm..interesting clientele. Very smokey. Beer was restricted but was fairly decent. Bit chavvy.

Not the same since it's refit, I use to come here with me old mucker in the early90's drinking pound a pint of gut rot. Doesn't have that same appeal anymore.

Really like this pub, my favourite in Farnham. Very friendly atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Some well kept beers although it would be nice to have a bigger choice. Quiz nites are great fun. The live music nights are also fantastic, and here you can stand in with the noise if you wish, or move to other end of the pub if you wish things to be quieter. Whenever I select a pub to go to in the evening marlborough head is always on the shortlist.

Seem to be obsessed with Belhaven. Not so quiet on weekend nights, though the lively quiz helps draw people in.

Would say it was my favourite pub in farnham of the ones visisted. Friendly atmosphere + good beers
aleman - 13 Feb 2006 00:28
One of my favorite pubs, during the day good food at very good prices, nice and interesting decor, lots of football on telly, pool table, very friendly bar staff who don't mind a quick chat. At night excellent live music every weekend and sometimes midweek from a variety of bands, classic quiz (something different, alot of thought gone into it). Definetely the place to try if you are sick, like me, of chain pubs pumping out dance disco tracks like the hogs head nextdoor.
Can be a bit quiet on weekday nights.
