Booked a table at their Friday night karaoke for a leaving do. Had a hilarious night out thanks to the staff and Andy the DJ. The food was good and sensibly priced as were the drinks but we had a scream during the karaoke. I have not sang and danced so much in ages, hopefully they will let us in again!!

This is essentially the Merseyside Embassy, a Liverpool supporters pub with a load of Scousers working behind the bar, great if you're a Liverpool FC fan.

The pub itself is fine, has a bit of a hotel lobby feel but they've tarted it up recently, along with the menu. Had a great steak with peppercorn sauce for less than 8 last night.

Only had one ale on last night, think it was Doom Bar, they have Moretti on tap which was very good.

No decent beer. No atmosphere. Indifferent service. What more needs to be said?

Looks like a footie 'n lager pub from the outside, and indeed once inside you immediately see an array of shiny fizz founts and several noisy televisions. However, there is a Greene King IPA handpump hidden away around the side of the bar. Beer was OK, and the barmaid friendly enough, but not a place to linger.

Large single roomed pub with the bar wrapped around the corner at the far end. Lots of seating of various styles, sofas. Low and high tables, plus plenty of seats around the bar. All looked clean and in good nick which was nice.

Only beer on was IPA. (groans) Other drinks selection was relatively small, with the usual kegs on offer. Stella, Star, Guinness ect. Cheapish as well.

Bar staff very slow, taking up to ten minutes to process food orders at the one till. Also adopting the classic Whos next? approach to service, so the wait for drink was irritatingly long. Despite this, they were pleasant, good humoured and spoke English, which is a boon these days.

Atmosphere was decent enough.

Not sure about this place to be honest, seems like a good haunt to watch the football, (Landlords a Liverpool fan, so they show their games predominantly) but doubt Id rush back just to drink here

Had lunch at Ruse last week, the food was very good & served quickly, which makes a change in Borough. Very reasonably priced, you have to try the Australian beef and cheese pie - was fab. Outside could do with a spruce up but couldn't we all!

Attractive bar staff, well-poured London pride and a comfy place to watch the football. What more could you ask for?

Doesn't look too promising from the outside, but pleasant enough once you're in. Best feature is that they appear to show every Sky football match (inc. Football League) and have several screens. Only tried the Guinness which was reasonable.

Quite a nice bar, and not as pretentious as some of the other joints around the Borough. Relaxing atmosphere, you haven't got some jobsworth emptying your ashtray every five minutes. I've pulled in here a couple of times as well, so it's one of my faves!

I used to walk past this place twice a day for over a year, thinking it was a sh*tehole ... then a friend organised a few of us to meet up in there one evening and despite being reluctant, it turned out to be a fine place inside and a fine night.

Friendly staff (although seem to change each time I go in there), food has been great on the two occassions we've eaten there, good drinks, and good and comfy (if you find a spot to the left of the bar).
