Nothing special and arguably over priced for what it is.

The same pub but with an updated profile.

Hence my original review;
"Would not go in this pretentious overpriced place if you paid me! Snobs in suits flashing their carkeys and talking bollocks to impress the gullable women. Its a shambolic shit-hole. Amen.

We were lured in by the promise of a roof terrace. Alas, it was closed for a private party.

Instead we watched women of a certain age dance along to disco hits from the seventies that was played just a touch too loud. Even for a saturday.

Decent place.

Quite like it here - it's one of the best place in quick walking distance from my office as it's not a) chavvy or b) pretentious. The service can be hit or miss though - waiting at the bar for ages while the staff have a chat is always guaranteed to get me annoyed.

Went to a wine tasting in the upstairs function room once and I have to say it was one of the best buffets ever. Have eaten here at lunchtime too and the food was decent.

This pub is now called the B Lounge it's a chain of only 2 pubs, both in Manchester, the other is the Brunswick, hence the name. Sells Theakston Best and Old Peculiar plus Thwaites Bomber. The beer is usually OK but not first rate. We call in here because it's a comfortable pub and the other half likes the wine. If you apply for a free B Lounge card you get 10% off at both pubs.

Regular stopping place on the way to or from Salford Central station. Nice atmosphere but prices a bit steep 2.65 Bitter, 2.85 Lager.
Theakstons and Directors on last time I called, neither above average

Changed my mind over the review I gave below. Whilst the good food still pervades, the ale situation has taken a turn for the worse. On the past three random ocassions that I have taken the effort to come here there has been no ale, prompting me to do a U turn and head for the peveril.

Atmosphere has taken a dive too.

This surely is the blue print for public houses who want to serve food. Soft red velvety lighting, good ale and superb food make this an enchanting place to visit. Dining area is separated from the bar and as far as I can remember, I have never seen any children (accompanied or otherwise)in here. Relaxing and very friendly place to be.

Love it, eaten there a few times now, every time has been quality. Beer and food are excellent.

Beware! There isn't a non smoking area within the restaurant. We were informed by a member of staff that they were trying to last out before new legistlation came in. Consequently we did not attempt to book for our party and are unable to comment on the meal quality.

Manchesters 1st proper gastro pub.....The beers on good form, the food is top notch....Unfortunately the popularity & newfound celebrity status of the owner has led to a decent price hike...although I suppose it was previously too cheap....Top place.

This has to be the best pub in Manchester. The staff are extremely friendly, the food, if you can get a table, is tremendous, and the whole feel of the place is relaxed.

Has a vaguely French feel to it, very warm and cosy inside. Not a large pub and half of it has been taken up by a restaurant, however still worth a visit if there aren't too many of you.

The food is superb. They have Speckled Hen Bitter on tap and a fit barmaid to serve it. Need I say any more?
