Can only echo the last comment of the previous posting, as the place filled up last night we were commanded to move table - if we'd been asked instead of bullied we would have doubtless obliged, but the manner left much to be desired so we departed, never to return. The small lad has principles.

very trendy, good music nights and prince harry goes there, but overpriced drinks and poor service,

Music downstairs is good but the place has been stripped out and gone upmarket since the good old days of New Routes Acoustic and the times when Dylan played here. And the beer (and presumably all other drinks) are very expensive - something like 4.65 for a pint of lager. The pub next door must be coining it as a place to go for the drinks instead - and even it isn't that cheap.

History was great - so great we went back to see the band (Dave Stewart) last Thursday 25 Sep. Band was pretty decent. Not really a pub as they have everything from wine and spirits to coffee, but very few beers, and only bottled. But the place was very cool - bit pricey. Downstairs is great, small stage and a fountain to wash your hands in. Garden out back closes early. Food not bad either. Didn't think the bad reviews I read were completely fair tbh.

Love this place. Ok its a bit grubby and expensive but what a night out and great staff and atmosphere.

Met a friend here on a Tues night and thought it was fabulous! Excellent cocktails, wine, food and service was second to none! A fabulous quaint little watering hole!

Go for the music in the basement...nothing else.

on a rather grubby stretch of the old brompton road, this place looks great & is appealing...until you step inside. horrendously snooty, slow staff - matched only by equally unappealingly posh customers - combined with high prices completely ruin the promise of this place. their greatest achievement was to turn what should have been a pleasant friday evening beer in the sun into a hasty gulp & a swift exit. avoid, unless you like paying through the nose for suffering.

Great atmosphere, decor and history. Let down somewhat by poor service, mediocre food and coffee. Still worth a visit.

Pseudo French place which has charm the first time you go there but runs out rapidly after a while when you realise the people who run it do not actually give a damn. Now that we can all have pubs opening until whenever they please, its midnight opening is no longer remarkable. If anyone told _me_ (as I overheard here once) that they went there to 'get away from horrible English people' they would get their (watery) coffee in their lap.

Great looking and atmospheric place but the service and food standard really lets it down. Maybe because of its history and its army of arty regulars this place is way up its own back passage, though I admit that on a sunny day the garden out the back is a very pleasant place to drink.

I have been going to the troubadour for many years and I absolutely love it. You can't beat having a good meal upstairs and then heading downstairs to see a live band and having a few glasses good beer or nice wine.

It's also nice sitting out in the garden on a sunny sunday afternoon. Or you can drop in for one of their great breakfasts.

Simon and Suzie have doubled the size of the place by buying the next door chippy. The old place used to be way too small but I like what they've done with it.

Great place for a quiet beer and some quick food. Can't beat their burgers, and can't think of anything better to wash it down with than a few Leffe Blondes!

A great place for brunch or relaxed evening meal. Does one of the best burgers in town and has a godd selection of wine. Service can be a bit scrappy and it's not a pub, but if you're after a relaxed place which has remained almost untouched since Dylan played there in '61, give it a go.

poetry reading, eccentric laa de daa placefor the most pretentios class snobs in london -really the most snotty place in the rbkc-thats saying something!-put it this way, if youre looking for the ultimate anthesis from yates kev bar, or chicago pikey cafe-then this is the place to go-no pikeys here. This is an authentic French bar, and stepping inside really does feel like stepping across the channel. Good selection of beers and wines. Food ranges from nibbles to traditional steak-frites.

"The service was bad, very bad. The waiter tried to get us to move tables half way through our main course as the table was booked, which we hadn't been informed of. We received no apology. As we did not leave the 12% suggested service charge (we left about 8%) he returned to ask for the remainder of the money and referred to us as "bitches" when we refused! He then told us to "get out of here". Very nice way to treat customers - don't you think?!"

Lovely cafe bar type place and definately the best reason to go to Earls Court. Highly eccentric decor and loads of musical history. Well worth a visit.
