Agree exactly with previous comment. Good locals pub. Held an excellent beer festival over the weekend - well managed with some very interesting and pleasant beers. If only the interior could be made less stark - a few pictures would help for instance. Sylviajoan

The pub is under new ownership and management, though retains its lively community feel with a good crowd of locals. There are usually one or two well chosen real ales available, and there always seems to be some kind of activity going on; but on the downside, the pub has made almost no effort with the interior, which is basic to say the least. To sum up I'd say the pub is rough, but a rough diamond.

This is the definitive community pub, with lots going on, a great crowd of locals and superb landlord. You can rely on at least two well chosen real ales being on, consisitently served in good condition. The decor leaves something to be desired, and could do with a facelift.

Not quite worthy of being in the GBG but i was suprised to find a nice pint of Hammerpot Red Hunter. Pretty much your run of the mill Town Center pub tho

Mmm....One half of mediocre beer was enough. Place feels unloved and grubby. Landlady slightly bonkers and rather manic but friendly...and was very distracted by new sweet shop

Two bar local just off the market place with a Courage plus guest ales that change frequently. Basic but welcoming.

Friendly pub . The barman/landlord was very pleasant and helpful and the beer good.

Two guest ales in good condition and a nicely kept little garden at the rear that catches the afternoon sun. A pleasant experience.

what great little pub really welcoming locals and really well kept beer always something unusal for the area, and unlike some so called real ale pubs doesn't have a huge range that sit in the pipe because your trying to sell too many, a real gem

Walked in and walked straight out again - made to feel as welcome as a fart in a space suit.....
