user reviews of the Mariners, Weymouth

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Re-opened about a month ago and now called The Tuatara Bar - named after a New Zealand lizard, apparently! Quite a good job on the refurb, though it's a bit of a trek to the toilets now and if it's very busy the bar can be awkward to get to. I think they have live music downstairs but whether it will ever be as popular a gig venue as Mariners/Verdis was remains to be seen. Also has alot of tvs for sporting events, including what is probably the biggest screen in a Weymouth pub downstairs.

Re-opening soon but not sure if it's in the same style.

Unfortunately it is now deceased. RIP - had some great times, and played some cool gigs there.

this is a brilliant place to go, great live music and really friendly people.

this is a great place. they have good music - occassionaly a brilliant band called Paisley who are absolutely fab, along with a load of others. their beer did make me ill once, but their spirits are really nice, and quite reasonably priced. from here you can go onto the tickled hippie.

Mariners is a great pub within site of Weymouth Harbour. It's a particularly good live music venue, having alt rock, indie and rock bands from Thursday to Sunday nights. Admission is free, and the bar's open late. ps I don't work there - I write a page on the local live music for the local paper.
