Great beer - delicious home brewed golden yeast beer. Super surly waiters try their best to dissuade you from drinking a wonderful brew.Grab a corner of a bench, drink deep, then leave.

I agree with almost everything here... we went for the beer, and were turned away, which seemed a bit rude (but that service is typical in central Prague). Returned a day or so later, in the afternoon, and had beer along with fried bread and raw garlic - a snack which lived with us for days. Great big, very interesting, brewpub - but there is better beer to be had.

two visits to this bar a year apart, and it still seems a good as ever, both the light and dark beers were on top form, nice paprika pretzels too and reasonable prices to boot.

Would loved to have spent some time in here and tried some of their beer but unfortunately they refused to serve us because we didn't want to eat.

Their unfltered golden lager was the only house beer on while we were there. Good, but not really remarkable. Also took home the 2 beers bottled (sold as a pair, at an outrageous price by Czech standards, reasonable by Norwegian standards!) Did not eat.

Rather disappointingly we were turned away two evenings running as they were full, not sure if they take bookings but it might be advisable to phone ahead especially if you are in a large group. It does seem very popular and could probably do with a drinking area for those not wishing to eat. If you find yourselves unable to get in, and you want to eat, try the U Ceskych Panu Restaurant (q.v.) a few doors down Vodickova towards Wenceslas Square.

This is an excellent brewpub in the city centre, and I recommend it highly. I have just returned to my hotel fully satisfied after a superb session there. Beer is seventy pence a pint.

The service is friendly and efficient, but most of all the BEER, brewed on site here since 1994, is excellent. There are two beers produced, namely Kvasnicovy Lezak Svetly and Cerny (light and dark), both 4% with their own distinctive flavours. The light beer is rather amber in colour, with a creamy sweetness in-mouth, but with subtle hoppy aftertaste. Unfiltered and unpasteurised it appears cloudy, but is superb. The dark beer is a chocolate lover's paradise, combining choco-cocoa and roast coffee.

The food was great, I had goulash (again) with rice and the garlic soup is divine. The pub attracts a mixed clientele, and in the middle of town, tourists are drawn in out of curiosity. I highly recommend this pub - go there.

Brilliant food, better beer, and the best takeout price ever about 15.00 for 50 litres.
