This was our second pub of our Lancashire crawl following the JW Lees Walton Arms in nearby Altham. I was quite impressed with the Royal. The selection of beers was good - Beartown Jubilee & Best Bitter, Nelson Jammin' Rock & Midshipman Dark Mild, Hopstar Dynamo Dee & Ilkley Best Bitter. Despite not being in the best of areas, I was surprisingly impressed with the pub. It is a little dated inside and could do with a minor refurb. However the owner was very friendly and chatty. The pub cats were equally approachable. At the one end, there is a bar billiards table, table football, a pool table and a jukebox. Good pub, but not the best in Great Harwood.

One of the best pubs I've been to in a long time. This pub has its own microbrewery with a wide selection of ales of all kinds, including several guests. When I visited it was a Friday afternoon and rather quiet yet the atmosphere was really friendly and down to earth, with the barmaid offering free samples to try. The beer here is seriously good quality and great value for the price. The only possible bad point I could think of is that the pub looks slightly tatty from the outside but the atmosphere inside more than makes up for it. Definitely a pub to return to.

Multi beered and a brew pub, with the biggest tart of a pub cat I have come across. The Hyndburn Circular bus stops outside and will take you to Blackburn or Accrington via Livingstone Road.

Fantastic Pub. Who could pass up on drinking on a ub that's had 625 diferent real ales since 07/01?! Absolutely Fandabidozey.
Friday night and Saturday nights are live music nights....The Duke box is full of the classic - more than you'll ever need.... ans Saturdays are alternating between Steak night and Curry evenings. Top dollar.

It's a fantastic freehold pub with it's own micro brewery. Always has at least 6 hand pulled brews on also Belgian Beer on pump. Music at weekends. NO TELEVISION!!!
