I was pleasantly surprised by this former Wetherspoon's pub. It's long since been part of the chain. But they do now stock a few real ales. To choose from were Castle Rock Snowhite, West Berkshire Good Old Boy & Hardy & Hanson's Rocking Rudolph. The latter was as good can be expected. It has the feel of an Irish pub. There is clearly a focus on sports TV. A couple of screens had horse racing on and 3 others had the football on. Best new find of the day for me.

If you are not a local to this pub, be warned..

If you have an argument with a local or a local threatens to take your life (even with a firearm) you will NOT be protected in my opinion.

The police cannot be called because you will be barred by the MANAGEMENT as I was. you will not have witnesses, and witnesses against you may not have ever even been there. The CCTV will be temporarily malfunctioning. Remember this information.

It would appear that the custom from a man convicted of a firearms offence who attempted to take the lives of four members of a family, including two very young girls is more important than the trade of completely innocent passers by.

I complained about the poster who called the manager names, I have asked for this to be removed twice but for some reason it is still on here - for the record I have never heard so much rubbish, the manager is the best ever. Ask any regular.

Think he moved on in the company.

What happened to the Irish guy who used to run the place?

I am a regular at the Wishing Well in Hayes and would like to say that the staff are fantastic, the manager is not anything like the anonymous poster of the 18th Aug 2007 - however if someone causes trouble they are not welcomed any more.
There is a lovely community atmosphere in the pub and if you are alone or in company you will always be welcomed.
Sport is always on the 3 tv's in the pub and if you like football, horse racing, rugby, hurling, cricket or any other sport Helena will always do her best that you are catered for.
Saturday night is usually music night at the Well and there are some good performers that have played there.
I would highly recommend the Wishing Well as the best pub in Hayes.

Yes irish theme pub, but all are made very welcome, the Landlord is great at his job, and does not allow any trouble in his pub, he makes sure all the customers are looked after very well by the staff that he carefully selects, thai food is just an added bonus to a great pub, and most important he is from Dublin and he supports a great football team (European Champions). Beer is also great, and Guinness is the best around. Wishing well group have done well to keep such a great manager !!!!!

The service here is reasonable, except for the short greek bloke who looked a little lost in the crowd.

irish themed pub. one of the few pubs in hayes that has an excellent trouble-free atmosphere. very busy friday and saturday nights, as well as sunday afternoons for the irish football. prices a tad expensive but the atmosphere equates for this. the manager seems very friendly. the mixed-race barman was very friendly and handled the crowd well (shame hes about 20 years younger than me, i wouldnt mind a piece of that!)

Irish run pub. Good for a Friday or Sunday drink. Has both Sky and Setanta & sometimes both on at the same time, but still very comfortable and welcoming for groups or if you are on your lonesome. The manager has a miserable demeanour but is excellent at his job but the barstaff are really friendly. Thai menu. Recommended.
