This used to be in the Good Beer Guide. How things have changed.

This place is the pits. I've not been in for a while but when I did go I wasn't impressed. The beer was OK, I suppose but nothing special. There was a bloke serving (apparantly) who seemed to resent every second and everyone in there. There was some girl behind the bar as well who seemed to be just telling her mates about a fight she got into over the weekend. Punters are rough and you never seem to get any birds in there. Rubbish.

What a disappointment. From the outside this pub looked very promising. On the inside it is full of rough thugs watching sports and leering at the poor females who dare to enter. Twice I have been there - once a bloke was staring out my boyfriend (weird as fella is 6'4 and nutter was about 4ft) and the 2nd time I got constant leering remarks everytime I went to the ladies.
Once a month they have a 'disco' e.g turn the music up so loud you can hear it for 7 blocks.
Full of chavs - my advice is to either keep walking or stay thirsty.

Dreadful place. Made the mistake of going in here when I first moved to the area. Its probably got worse since. Solution to the crap DJs appears to have been to just turn the volume up.

Not quite as bad as the recent reviews make out IMHO. Still I'd go to the Cricketers instead.

This loooked promising when it was refurbished but beware, it's just a slightly nicer sheen on what is essentially a crap, dirty pub. The toilets are the scummiest I have seen outside of a festival and the 'garden' is a mess! This pub has potential, just a shame the new owners were too lazy (or ran out of money) to do a full job on it.

Been done up.Apparrently for me alone, since on the last three visits its been empty.Still, at least I have the benefit of the pastel shaded vinyl "banquettes" and sophisticated music to myself.Pub for sale.

GAH!!!!

Its the pub on top of the Haunted Hill in the pic!

Has improved but still too close to the Toxics of Fairield for my liking, stringy long hairs ahoy, sadly not the location for this type of pub altho the refit has made it look nicer.

This pub has improved beyond belief since the new management took over and it's been refurbished. The rough crowd , the pool table and fruit machines have gone. It's more like a trendy bar with a nice crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. The music is coll chill out stuff.
They have just got a new chef and the food is fantastic.

it's closed at the moment. there are rumours of it turning into some sort of jazz venue.

Used to love this place, but seems to have gone downhill since the Cambridge Arms closed - the thugs from the Estate seem to have drifted down here. Shame. Beer's still good though, just don't look at the wrong bloke in the wrong tone of voice <shudder>...

Used to be a decent place but has become a bright, shiny 'bar'. Beer's OK, though. Recently had problems watching football when someone inserted cash in the video jukebox - ALL screens changed to Billy Idol.

The food especially the Sunday Roast is superb. It must be among the best in the Kingston area.

The Sunday night quiz has finished, but the Newt is still a top pub with excellent beer and delicious food. I've been a regular there for many years and I find the place second to none.
