Popped in for a pint while flat hunting in the area. The bar was busy, but not over so, with mostly young people eating as well as drinking. There were plenty f women there which is always a good sign. The atmosphere was good, lively but not noisy, and the bar staff very friendly, there were five of them behind the small bar which tells you how busy it gets. I may never go back to Bethnal Green but if I do then this is the pub that I'll go to.

I popped in here about a year ago (so not the most timely of posts) and a couple of the posts below do chime. Certainly aiming to be hip but the evening I visited was a Saturday and I was there for an evening of boxing down the road at the York Hall. The pub soon had a good contingent of more traditional East End pub customers - hipsters seemed to vanish. Ho ho. The ale I tried wasn't good - a Truman brew, can't remember its name.

Biff boff ;-)

Went to the quiz night. Pub full of youngsters who seem to feel the need to shout conversations to their friends less than a foot away. Combine that with a quiz host who sounds like she's giving the mic a BJ makes for an experience I will never repeat!

I’ve been drinking in here for almost a year and while it does attract a young “Shoreditch” sort of crowd in the evenings it’s very friendly. The quiz nights on Tuesday are very popular and rather bizarre, the bonus round can be best impression of a sheep or Elvis and dance-offs. Last time I was there the lovely Nadean, compere extraordinaire, had one member of each team up for a hopping race around the pub, collecting a straw with their mouth at the bar halfway.

A good option on Bethnal Green Road and a nice watering hole to visit to in advance of a trip to Sichuan eatery Gourmet San or other decent pubs in the area like the Carpenters Arms. I actually found the staff to be friendly, the pizzas looked delectable and a pint or three of Caledonian 90 went down well. Sure, it's a hipster place, but live with it.

Pretentious, full of Hipsters, expensive and very rude staff... wouldn't drink in here if the drinks were free.

Shame as the pub itself is lovely and feels welcoming, just a shame about the crowd, staff and prices.
