Only had one pint in here, we were on a bit of a pub crawl, but I have to say I liked this pub very much. Some places seem to have the right vibe about them and this one did. I shall return next time I am on hols in Blackpool. Oh yes indeedy!

Visited with 2 mates Saturday 27/9/14. Plenty of ales on offer. Service not great as Blackpool at home to Norwich so was really busy. Toliets were surprisingly clean though. Had a Farmhouse breakfast Sunday morning which was decent and the service was notably better when it was quieter

Saturday morning - 11am - packed!! Holidaymakers starting off as they meant to go on. Fair enough beer selection from some local brewers. Big bar but not the size it looks from outside bearing in mind the huge store it was before 'Spoons got it. Preferred the Layton Rakes though.

Surprisingly small Wetherspoons situated almost directly under Blackpool Tower. Good selection of casks & on 2 visits the staff were friendly & efficient. Particularly pleasant if you can sit by the windows at the front & watch the world go by.

Went on a monday afternoon 6th feb. The place was VERY QUIET! So thats the time to go if you dont want the hassle from holidaymakers. idiots and the like. A very nice place, staff were obliging and friendly, we found no problem with the place. The real ales were good and well pulled. Yes the staff told us its manic in the season, but what do you expect you types who like a good moan, it is Blackpool

Nice enough pub but during the daytime (off season) there are not enough staff to cope with the customer flow.
Poor disabled access, with small lift at far left of entrance, often blocked by chairs / buggies.

I visited this pub a couple of days ago on a Saturday tea time during the illuminations period. The pub was packed out with virtually every table occupied & people 2-3 deep at the bar waiting to be served. There were 6 bar staff behind the bar with only 4 actually serving customers. The other 2 were just loafing about trying to look busy. The manager was wandering around doing nothing.

There were only 4 cask ales available, Ruddles @ 1.85, Abbot Ale @ 2.35, Moorhouses Blond Witch @ 2.25 plus one other. I had one pint of Blond Witch which was good but it ran out & I had a pint of Ruddles. Ruddles normally seems a bit weak to me but on this occaision it was very good.

I would like to visit this pub again when it's not so busy but being in central Blackpool it's probably always busy.

Great location for a wetherspoons, big pub with good selection of beers and food all at a decent price, like all the photos and history of Blackpool on display!

being wetherspoons number #506 this certainly aint the worst in the country contrary to the previous report, very central location and friendly quick service, beer selection nothing to write home about but the pint of acorn barnsley bitter was spot on and just 1.99 bargain 7/10

Further to my previous review.
This place has got worse instead of better. Just one bar staff on trying to serve "large ish" presense at the bar
Today's visit yielded just one handpump in use, and that was in fact a cider.
So much for the biggest beer festival on the planet that Wetherspoons is supposed to holding at present.
This pub must be a contender to be the WORST WETHERSPOONS IN THE COUNTRY.

It's a Wetherspoon's pub - what do you expect?

I expect good value food & cheap beer (luckily I love Ruddles ) and that's exactly what you get.

In a place of awful pubs I expected the worst of things, but it was 22:30 and I was sober...

They sold bottles of Abbott Ale (and a few others) and Old Rosie Cider. Much above what you expect from a Wetherspoons. Surprisingly okay.

Perhaps I was expecting too much....
Too small for a Wetherspoons outlet, especially when slap bang in the centre of Blackpool & under the Tower. Was heaving on our visit, about 4or5 deep at the bar with only 2 staff serving (3 if you included the manager type who served one person then disappeared out the back for a few minutes then returned, served one then disappeared etc) on a Friday late afternoon/early evening. There wasn't anywhere to sit. There were empty tables but not enough chairs!
Similar to its sister outlet on Lytham Road for it's ale policy. 12 handpumps on show, all bar 4 had available soon on! The ale tried was flat and not at its best.
I know it is only early doors for this new pub. Will visit again, perhaps may be better when the season curtails later in the year.
