....and now reopened:-)

Lovely pub in every aspect as far as I can see. It's obviously geared up for the food and if our experience is anything to go by, it will do extremely well. Bar snacks were all outstanding quality and reasonably priced. The main menu, as you'd expect, is a bit more pricy but what was served on other tables looked great. It's a Shepperd Neame pub so you get the usual offerings - which gets a bit boring if you've live in Kent for a while - but there were a couple of other choices when we were there and the Goldings was lovely. A bit out of the way for me but I'd definitely make a special trip for the food alone.

After cycling past the previous week when it was closed, I was eager to return for a visit and it didn't disappoint. A delightful pub which although clearly priding itself on its food, serves a delightful pint of Late Red, probably the best pint of the stuff I have had when I visited. Had Thatchers on tap but wasnt available at the time of visit which was rather disappointing. Freindly barmaid and the large fireplace was very welcome on a cold winter's day

The food is pretty good, the wine choice reasonable.

BUT, they are trying to be a gastropub and the toilets let them down big time.
They are disgusting!

I understand the gents is even worse!

Used to be a great pub when Tony was in charge.
Current Landlord can be rude, thus distinct lack of locals.
Food OK if a bit plain...
Beer quality can be variable...

Popped in for lunch here. Two real fires greeted us and friendly service. We both had the locally sourced pork and leek sausages with eggs and chips, delicious. A choice of Shepherd Neame ales, so I plumped for the Late Red, also delicious.
Even more impressive was learning there is a fish restaurant downstairs, open every Friday and Saturday night, again, locally sourced fish.
Will definitely return soon and will give the restaurant a try too.
