Called in at the weekend with a view to watching the rugby. 3 real ales on; Buttcombe, Doom Bar and Fallen Oak. As it was an early ko settled for the Fallen Oak. Cracking quaffable locale beer.

Free snacks at half time also.

Well, who am I to buck the trend of alternating good review / bad review for this place? A large group of us descended on the place early in the day, and they fed and watered us admirably, even bringing out an unsolicited ice cream with a candle in it when they heard one of us was celebrating a birthday. Food came quickly and was tasty. The beer - Butcombe and a guest from Bateman's - did the job nicely. The bill got messy and so did we, but the staff remained cheerful and pleasant.

Totally disgusting. Premises have not seena pot of paint in many years. Staff are very rude and act as if they are doing you a favour. Just over one hour for food to arrive. Food was truly disgusting, duck was tougher than leather and in fact they refunded that as the manager agreed. The Fish combo was "slimy", in fact I was physically sick twice that afternoon so suspect bad fish was the reason. Please, do not eat here. Nice location to sit outside and have a drink but limit yourself to a packet of crisps. I do not write reviews often, in fact never before, but I feel taht the Public should be warned.

The female staff at the Salt House got an attitude. Dont even look at them you may offend them. They are not proffesionals, they take things personally instead of explaining in a nice maner to the customer.

Well me & my family ate here yesterday, being fathers day & it was busy busy the staff were rushed off of their feet but they still had a smile & time to see that everyone was ok.
The food was so worth waiting for as we were told it was cooked fresh and rightly so, it was. The vegtables were cooked to perfection.
The pub is situated in a perfect location looking out on a stunning veiw.
It was a beautiful sunny day & was lovely to see so many people out and about, there was also a bbq on the go which i think is great.
Me & my family will most deffinatly be going back.

well i truely am one not to leave reviews but i have to for this pub as i was disgusted with everything about it apart from the location which was beautifull and great for children. well where do i start firstly on there web site they have lots to choose from but on a sunday they only have a sunday menu and a few specials. Then the staff were very impatient and sarcastic then when asked what the childrens sunday lunch consisted off we were told roast potatos coliflour carrotts green beans meat which sounded great. well then when it came out we were very very DISSAPOINTED to find a bowl full off 2 coli florrets about 5 carrotts then the rest of the bowl filled with lots of corguetes leeks and onions we had to share 3 bowls between 9 people so we asked if we could have a extra bowl as there was not enough coliflour and carrotts to go round as we did not like the other veg especially the 2 young children, they got very angry about this and refused so then my husband got angry also and they finally agreed to bring some out, only to find a very rude forigen lady bring another bowl out ranting something we couldn't understand but it was not plesant, then again there was 1 coliflour florett and no carrotts the rest was the veg we said we didn't like so they were just taking the p*** out of us really there were flys flying around our table. I honestly am an easy going person and can usally just forget places like this but i really felt people need to know the truth about this place may be any other day might be ok but for sunday lunch it's a big NO NO and if your happy to have miserble moody people serving then please do visit.

The pub itself is fairly average, and seems to attract a few chavs. The bar staff seem quite disorganised, and have never got a clue whos turn it is to be served next. On the plus side, theres plenty of outside seating, and its a fantastic spot to sit in the sun and overlook the beach. They do BBQs on weekends in the summer which is a nice touch.

Three beers on tap (Butcombe, Doom Bar and another cornish one), plus Stowford Press, Thatchers Gold and Blackthorn ciders.

Please note review may be slightly out of date, it's taken BITE eight months to get it added to the site.
