On the good side - an abundance of characters, attractive bar staff, good food, never boring, good pint of Grolsch, open late. Bad side - empty and bare during the day, pool room particularly threatening, dirty sofas, toilets have no bog roll or locks, local nasties/scallies seem to have free licence to waltz in and wander about looking menacing without buying anything, like the wild west on a sunday afternoon, girlfriend guaranteed to get hassled if you leave her to go to the bog, be prepared to 'lend' at least 5 fags on a night out.

Nice roof terrace, modern decor. Nice local.

Some nights can be a bit 'moody' but in general a good mix of people.

Decent beer

suck your teeth and throw your head back and you will feel at home. moody at the weekend and madness on a bank holiday - but despite the slightly mood atmosphere a good place for a drink after 11

cool bar, music to match. dont be put off by location - but maybe leave in a group or a taxi if you're a bit worse for wear. Alternatively walk home near the students(whose accomodation is all round here)- they're usually a much easier target than yourself to the locals ;-)

1 year old tomorrow (2003-08-14). Purple tiled, very modern but quite pleasant.
