Located opposite the market car park at Eastgate, airy and friendly city local selling up to seven beers, mostly from local microbreweries. Good ales at reasonable prices. Possibly best beer in Chichester. Knowledgeable staff.

By far the best pub in Chichester, with an excellent selection of local real ales at sensible prices. Could do with a refurb the flock wallpaper looks like something out of a 1970's Indian restaurant

Friendly landlord, this very quiet and peaceful boozer has probably the best ale in Chichester and it's not the most expensive either, well worth a visit, 8/10

Visited 16/8/12 and was impressed by the range of ales and the quality. All excellent. Would recommend.

Located a short waqlk form the town centre, opposite the market site.

Serves a good range of real ale from the local area, all very well kept and served.

Did not try the food, but it looked worth buying.

Somewhat "eccentric" landlord who is entertaining!

Very good pub

Welcoming, quirky boozer with O Hagan's sausages featured on the menu and an array of flavourful beers. The Stout was incredibly good, Footslogger was also tasty. The food was also honest and straightforward without being poncey - sausages, mash (buttery and 'proper') and generous in portion-size - top notch. The proprietors were good-humoured and friendly, showing a propensity to succeed and I hope they do. A really worthwhile beer-spot just off the pedestrianized (and rather humdrum) main-drag.

Visited on Saturday afternoon, quite peaceful inside. Selection of six, local real ales available. Unfortunately, my failing memory makes it difficult to recall what I drank :-(

Enjoyed the sausages for dinner (well worth the hype!) and our Host was very pleasant.

Lovely suntrap at the back of the pub, although its very heavily built up.

Good pub with a wide range of local (Sussex/Hampshire) ales. Food includes a selection of O'Hagan sausages...very tasty. Clean and simple lines inside, and professional service. Definitely a pub for drinkers. Maybe the best pub in Chichester for the ale connoisseur.

Decent Irving beers on, in a rather bland pub.
No hot veggie food available lets it down.

Excellent, friendly free house with six ales from the likes of Dark Star and Hepworth. The best place to eat O'Hagan's sausages. Interesting collection of potato mashers. Possibly the best pub in Chichester and highly recommended.

Fantastic pub opposite the entrance to the cattle market car park. 700 Portsmouth-Brighton bus stops right outside which was handy!

6 hand pumps and plenty of bottled beers available too. Didn't try one of the O'Hagans Sausages but there were plenty available in exotic flavours.

Landlord and staff very friendly and welcoming with free Strawberries on the bar at lunchtime.

Did try the locally made pork scratchings with a pint of Darkstar's Hophead and they were spot on (as well as plentiful)

I know where I'm drinking next time I'm in Chi.

Hurrah for blessed Beer in the Evening, which led me to the Bull in Chichester (the Good Beer Guide only had 3 unexciting entries). 5 beers on (Rother Valley, Palmer's, Harvey's + 2 others), various strengths and styles, all good, and the excellent O'Hagan's sausages (with bubble and squeak - yum). The landlord and staff were very friendly and the pub had a proper pub feel to it. I wish it were my local.

Have been in several times, good range of local ales, food good and well portioned (a veriety of O'Hagans hand made sausages) well worth a visit. Needs to sort out the log burner though.

This pub has changed hands several times over the past few years. It has been through a lot of changes (some better than others!) but lately has been taken over by a landlord who seems to have turned it into a really nice relaxed traditional pub. There's a superb range or real ale which changes regularly, and comes from several different local breweries. The beer is kept very well. There's no snobbery, it's just a nice clean relaxed pub with friendly staff and great beer and wine. I haven't tried the food, but as the pub is run by Bill OHagan of O'Hagan's Sausages (Winner of Britain's "Best Sausage Maker" Award), I expect it's pretty good!
