user reviews of the Adelaide, Belsize Park

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Contrary to popular belief, this pub is not closed but is periodically open as a private hire venue.

This pub was originally the Eton and took its current name from the now defunct Adelaide Tavern at No.1 Adelaide Road, opposite Chalk Farm underground.

Nice enough pub but seating arrangements need serious reconsideration.....likewise a more ergonomic rebalancing of beautiful young Belsize Park bohemians with the council estate contingent from across the road who appear to have been in the majority during my two visits.

I have been here loads recently since a new manager took over recently bringing a lot more vibes and fun things to do.

Most notably the new cinema screenings that are now every Tuesday upstairs at 8pm (I love films and the room is great!). I caught Raging Bull last week and hear Run Lola Run is on this week with short films and director talks coming up. Regular DJ's on the weekends that are actually good and I can hear myself talk, pub quiz....sorry to go on but this is now my local haunt and I love the new vibe, seating and better quality staff ;-)

PS I am going here for NYE because they having massive fireworks display at 12 and wicked Las Vegas theme..onto a winner! I found this website looking 4 their phone number!

I want to start a campaign to get this pub sorted out, its a great location, great beer garden, great staff but still seems to lack something - character....

Nice little pub and out of the way enough that you feel like you've found somewhere special. Good sized beer garden and enough rooms inside to make everyone happy. Have been there 4 times now and each time the staff have spoiled an otherwise perfect night - nothing major, just little things. The last few times I've been they've had specials on jugs of cocktails, which I daresay could get ugly.

New management are trying hard but need to watch the changing customer base which may see the pub go 'down market' somewhat. Nice sexy Polish girl behing the bar though.

This pub is fantastic. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It's not overpriced, the food is great and they have a non-smoking area! It's generally quite quiet so you can always get a seat and hear your friends chat. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I love this bar esp. the sexy bald irish bloke, he's a great laugh. Its a laid back atmosphere, which is hard to find in Primrose Hill.Well worth the visit. Good beer, great thai food. I'll be back for more.

Affiliated to The Sun and The Falcon in Clapham, and as well run and friendly. Hard to resist the Thai BBQ from the garden in summer. Friendly Irish guy behind the bar with some feeble support from the rest. Nice relaxed atmosphere though, thoroughly recommend it for the summer, but perhaps a bit lacking in atmos for winter when the garden is out of bounds.

Went to this pub with a couple of friends the other day and we all agreed that it was great. Staff not bad the irish guy was very friendly to us. Food very nice. Overall the pub had a very laid back and relaxing attitude.although must admit the pints of lager did not look great, but was not drinking lager that night so wasn't too bothered.

I come here as often as i can,but not often enough.Staff are a great laugh, the Thai food is amazing esp. the BBQ. The best beer garden around.Acoustic nights and Comedy nights are a must.

the place to be in the summer but not a hike i take in the winter ( a bit off the beaten track )but well worth the visit.Warning Thursdays and Sundays are out unless you are a 30 somthing Jewish princess who takes up all the room and just drinks coke and is waiting to be taken off the shelf. Great place for a get together as there are alot of tabe space before 8pm, after and you will stand ( have learned that lesson )Great beer Garden !!!

Been a while since I've been there but I do remember it being pricey and somewhat pretentious. Nice Thai food - don't know if they still do it.
