Rumour has it, that the place close because of the poor vision of the landlord - too many blind eyes were being turned to activities in the place.

One of the odder contenders for the St Leonards pub X Factor, the first thing I noticed was that no one seemed to come in or go out of the place. For a while I thought it was closed, but this seems to be another place which survives on the patronage of a small number of very hard drinking customers. Very limited bitter selection, but could be worth a swift half just for the curiosity value.

Went in here just before Christmas, nominated it, as it wasn't on here, and finally found it on.
One of the tackiest chaviest pubs in the area. People give a lot of stick to the pubs in the area, but some of them are all right. This isn't.

Traditional community pub, with a refurbished exterior but a somewhat basic interior. You get the impression that they don't get many strangers in, and having CBeebies on the widescreen television gave the place a distinctly curious atmosphere. The Courage Best was OK.
