user reviews of the Worm's Head Hotel, Swansea

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

As mentioned worth going to for the view and also where else are you going to get a pint round here. The Worms head ale was okay and for a tourist trap pub it had a bit more character (as well as one or two local characters) than your average tourist haunt.

As others have said this pub is all about the view of Rhossili bay which really is quite stunning and well worth the visit alone. And if you get bored of that you can just watch the surfers trying to catch waves. As I was at Worms Head I decided to have a pint by the same name which was a bit of a disappointment although perfectly drinakable. However they also had a Gwynt-y-ddraig real cider on tap which more than made up for it. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food.

The bar really * is * the view - quite extraordinary.

Also enjoyed the lamb cawl

This pub must have one of the best beer garden views in the country. The staff were friendly and the Welsh cider (Taffy) was excellent and much needed following a stomp round the head. The Lamb Cawl was good. The entertainment of the cows on the beach was an extra special touch!

Quality pub. Amazing beer garden overlooking the bay, and the two ales were both top banana. Good bar snacks, including Scampi Fries. YES

The Worms Head Hotel is in a superb location and there are stunning views over Rhossili Bay and Worms Head from the bar, the lounge and the outside terrace. The bar area is perhaps a little bit basic, but the adjoining lounge is extremely comfortable. Two real ales were available at the time of our visit, both from the local Hurns Brewing Co Tomas Watkins Cwrw Haf and Worms Head.

The food was excellent too. It was good quality, nicely presented, quickly served and given the hotels prime tourist location, very good value. The beer was pretty good and not overpriced either. The staff were nice too the barmaid even taught me how to pronounce Cwrw Haf as she was pulling my pint.

The slight downside is having to use the village car park, but given the other attractions within walking distance, 2.50 for all day, is not a rip-off.

Rhossili and the pub will definitely be on our itinerary next time we visit Gower
