Nice pub interiorly . choice of only courage best ,tribute, and butcombe , quality of tribute was good, but overall the pub looked a pale shadow of what it was only a few months ago , price watch the tribute was 3.40 a pint.

very nice pint of adnams regatta was quaffed, attractive little clifton pub with four handpumps,7/10

Two guests on from Wychwood: not a brewery I rate that highly but the seasonal brew Bountiful was sublime. Landlord seemed friendly enough - previously managed the White Lion, and was enthusiastic about the ale. Quietly impressed and will be back for further visits.

stopped for one, mr stooge 3.30 for the pint , very expensive ,and did not encourage me to stay for another , pity because its a good pub ,with a great landlord

A good pub, ruined by a surly obnoxious landlord.
On one occasion, I was told off for ordering as he was clearly on a break.
On another occasion, I ordered food and it arrived burnt and cold (a remarkable achievment!). When we complained the landlord told us that we had been chatting to long and it had gone cold whilst we sat there.

A pity because it boasted a good selection of real ales.

really nice pub , interesting choice of Beers , mine fav was a pint of old hooky . friendly bar staff . deceivingly spacious pub 7/10.

A proper pub on "the strip" of Whiteladies Road which makes a pleasant change. Traditional wooden bar and photo's of old Bristol on the walls. Quite long and narrow, and I imagine it could get quite packed on a busy night. Good choice of beers with two regulars (Courage Best & Bombadier) plus four rotaing guests, all quite unusual, plus Blackthorn cider. Friendly welcome and basic pub grub, inc. Pieminister pies.
