Visited the pub as back in the area for the first time in over a year, I can't see what the previous post meant. As pub food goes my plate was stacked high and I enjoyed every mouthfull! The landlord remembered me which I find remarkable these days, I stayed most of the evening chatting to him, his wife and regulars who are a really friendly bunch. I'll be passing back through in a couple of weeks and will gladly call in.

I visited the Red Lion on Tuesday evening as I was staying nearby and read the recommendations here. Now I wonder if I was in the correct place! Staff were friendly enough, but the food was mediocre and there was only one cask ale - Courage Best Bitter which was O.K., but I suspect not well kept.

Very decent little boozer, one of the best pubs in the area although i can safely say that if there is a place in Britain that has shittier pubs than nearby Hayes, i have yet to find it.

I visited this pub today, have done a rekky of the area before I arrived. I was very taken with the olde worlde building & tradditional pub feel. I had been pushed towards the White Hart by the hotel I'm staying at. I have to say that the Red Lion was everything I hoped it would be. I had an excellent meal (Steak & Kidney pudding, veg & gravey) & a pint for under 10.00. Quite an acheivement so close to the airport. I had a long chat with the landlord & found the afternoon flew by. Am heading out of Heathrow in the morning but will definatley call in again before I head home. If you are in the area I reccomend you make this pub your first call, it really is great.

Having recently left the army i am somewhat of a pub expert. After boozing my way round the world, and round this area recently, I have to say that this has to be the friendliest and most inviting pub i have come across. The landlords are very friendly and make you feel like you have been drinking here all your life. the food and drink are excellent and the locals are very sociable. If your ever in the area i highly recomend you visit this pub.

Heard good things about this pub so decided to take a look. New govenor made huge difference. Whole place looks different to last visit 3 years ago, its very clean, quality service & pint. spent all afternoon there as was so friendly & comfortable. Didnt have anything to eat but good menu and not expensive so will definatley give it a go on next visit. Pool table was sound & couldnt believe how friendly everyone was. I highly recomend you visit this pub if you want a traditional english pub. Well done Red Lion!

Has a new landlord and seems to have made a big difference - due to have more work done to it.
Also has a regular DJ most Saturdays. Keen to know how this pub turns out.

This pub is great, doesn't serve my particular choice of beer (bitter) but its very friendly. As the Royal School of Mines Hockey team we train at the Imperial College sports ground nearby on a Monday which happens to be quiz night. We promptly decend on the pub after training for the quiz and food provided. The big screen and the pool table sort us out a treat after the exertions of training.
