please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Job Bulman is a Wetherspoons on a side street just off Gosforth's High Street. In my opinion, it is Gosforth's best pub. It has the usual decent range of ales - Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best, Sonnet 43 The Raven Bourbon Milk Stout, Maxim Maximus & Andersons Best Scotch & Sharps Doom Bar and in addition, they also had Old Rosie cider. I enjoyed a chicken meal here on what was Wetherspoons' chicken night. That was fine too. The interior is fairly modern, with an outdoor courtyard looking as if it might be quite pleasant in the summer. In the winter, it was handy for smokers. Decent pub.

Must have changed managers since the last reports - it's a standard Wetherspoons offer with all that entails. The beer selection, though was pretty poor with a lack of lower gravity bitters (it was early december so Christmassy-type ales were prevelant) so I had a half and left.
Service was OK and there appeared to be enough staff - a large party were having Christmas lunch but there were still 2 or 3 behind the bar.
Just off the High Street next to Gosforth shopping centre. I rather preferred the County and The Queen Victoria.

5 staff, 6 waiting customers and it took me 20mins to get served. 3 of the staff were simply cleaning and rearranging the bar, in full "looking-busy-but-avoiding-serving" mode. Pints were flat and weak. Floors sticky. If it's quantity over quality you're after then this is the place. Otherwise, steer clear.

Cheap & Cheerful - a few too many schoolkids and families for my liking.
Beer didn't seem very strong either! Food was poor but cheap

The food is horrible microwave dinners, but what do you expect for a whetherspoons pub, its cheap and quick, its my local and its nice for a few drinks on the afternoon, but gets far to busy on the weekends, tables are full of dirty glasses, dirty plates, dirty tables, also through the day, NEEDS MORE STAFF!!!, not enough staff on an evening, good prices on wine and ales, even when the real ale festival is on and the wine festival, great wines for great prices

Previously a post office and has about as much charm now. Too many people stuffing their faces with microwaved rubbish to be able to enjoy a drink here. Nasty.
