i have visited this pub a few times lately. I have had food and found it a good big meal for the price.this pub has entertainment aswell, and the football. so something for all i do not think you will be dissapionted. unless you want first class everything for less than ten pound, o course that is not available anywhere .

I visited the queens the other evening and was upset to find that the young lady that was the assistant manager there had felt the need to leave.her name was kate a petite young lady but with a huge personality.I found out on my visit there that it was due to an incident that occured there whilst the owners were on holiday.Well i happened to be there on the night in question i was with my husband and some friends.kate was behind the bar and was was being what i can only describe as being screached at by a member of staff kate looked shocked but surprisingly she spoke to the member of staff with care and concern, the member of staff didnt seem to want to listen but to carry on shouting.Kate looked out to the shocked bar full of customers embarrased and removed herself from the bar.The member of staff was the daughter of the owners so i can understand kates actions.I feel its a real shame ive always thought that since the pub was taken over by this couple they have done so many nice changes but i feel since the assistant manger which she had only been with the queens 5 or 6 months there abouts had made a huge difference the pub seemed to run abit more professional.when i visited the other evening it seemed busy but not in a good way a hectic dont no what were doing busy.I hope she is happy in her work were ever she is.I hope the queens can carry some of what kate brought them.

This is a wonderful pub. The have the best two chefs in Oxton and the menu is out of this world. The pub has been that busy with food I've had to wait for a table but was worth the wait. They have everything from Cask ale to shots and the wine is very good. The best to try is the Coca Cola Ribs. I will be returning time and time again, with no frozen food and everything cooked fresh.

New owners & now serving real ales for the first time - Timmy Taylors on my recent visit. Apparently they are planning more. Good news. Also new food menu. Things are looking up for this pub.

Closed at the moment. Apparently up for sale. Heard some very bad reports in recent months & it seems most people had decided to drink elsewhere. Lets hope the new tenants show more interest than the last ones!

On the outskirts of Oxton Village, this is an historic & well established pub. Inside it is clean, bright & tastefully decorated. The garden is very small but is a fantastic suntrap. Food is straight from the freezer to microwave to plate & is nothing better than sustenance. Choice of beer is minimal & unimaginative. My main gripe though is that at busy times there is a lack of bar staff & at some times there is only one member serving both food & drinks!! I have walked out on some occasions after waiting more than 10 minutes with other disgruntled people. Overall there seems to be an air of indifference at times hanging over this place which is a shame as there is so much potential.
