I was staying in the nearby Crowne Plaza hotel. So I thought I'd give the Telegraph a try on Thursday evening. It's just over the rear of Central station. Signs on the doorway state that toilets are for customers only, or a 50p charge otherwise. They suggest coming in for a coffee or tea for just £1! 4 ales are served. They were Mordue Workie Ticket & Five Bridges & Great North Eastern Rivet Catcher & Westoe IPA. The interior was dark, with little atmosphere. There are much better pubs around. Try the Box Social, just down the road in the railway arches.

Not much atmosphere in here, things went down whilst ordering food from a female manager with a very disinterested attitude, food took a long time, both the chips & pizza were under cooked to the point that they were in edible, the pizza was clearly a frozen one, and not a good one, that had far too much herbs on the top to make it seem home made. Made a complaint to a member of staff to pass on to the manager to which we were ignored. Appalling service & food, will never go again.

Dull bar. Absolutely nothing to make it stand out. Not worth the walk from the Station really.

Avoid.

I recently overheard the owner, who appeared to be drunk, threaten a customer, saying "I'll knock your block off", and "I don't need your custom". The guy didn't seem to be doing anything wrong. I won't be drinking there again. It's a shame, as the rest of the staff are nice people.

I like the The Telegraph. Tucked out of the way, good to pop in for a few after work. Always get a really good pint here. Good rooftop terrace to enjoy a few beers in the summer and the staff always friendly.

Nice roof top beer garden, but they've ruined this place.

Good pub well worth a visit, and fat old John is barred now, so theres relief all round. Used to spend many hours proping up this bar, don't have as much time on my hands now, shame.

Used to be a cracking boozer, full of lads working on the railway and at the post office. Now like so many other places in Newcastle had tried to go for the Bohemian chic/grunge crowd- dirty unwashed feckers to you and me!! And for god sakes clean the ashtrays!

Cheap trebles (from what I remember) and I recall being impressed with the roof garden despite it being the middle of November! Nice jukebox aswell.

It used to be bohemian, now it's just loud with no decent beer. The rooftop beer garden is, admittedly, a plus point.

This pub has very good food a spot on sunday lunch, sky tv on 2 large screens on 2 floors,a quiz machine,a low level classic spaceinvader and the best rooftop beer garden in Newcastle.

The telegraph is a fine pub and the patio has a view on the most exclusive housing of Newcastle!
Downtown but not noisy with plenty of parking.
The people there are very friendly and come back often. Decent pricing, and the usually quite good music will make you forget about the worn out state of stairs and tables: it's all good fun!
Now, you just have to find it!

The Telegraph is a great pub. Good beer, gorgeous barmaids, decent food, good music (most of the time).

What more could you want from a pub ?

Great pub. Mainly students, laid back friendly atmosphere. Sexy barmaids, good price trebles. Upstairs DJ room, and ouside a large patio also upstairs. A gem, hidden away by Central Station. Good food too, Open late till 12.30 - what more can you ask. 10/10 !!!
