After five minutes of queueing, I started to get bored, once in, via 2 cute girls i was with, there is 2 levels. Ground floor bar; a barman that is charming but cannot mix the cocktail asked for so settled as spirit+mixer which even asking about deals, came to £10.20 for 2 dbl spirit mixers. Old cheesy music in the downstairs bar to start with but turned very hip-hop.

The bouncers here are almost incapable of holding down any level of conversation and seem to spend more time frowning and grunting as a means of communication.

I think it's far too over-priced for what it is and for what you get..

There is one problem with the night-life in Woking. There aren't any clubs (unless of course, you want to hang around with yellow-stained teeth women and bored, middle-aged lorry drivers' wives - If so, then head to the Chameleon).

It's simply not worth a visit. If it's a club you're looking for, spend eight minutes on the train and go to Guildford. If you live in Woking, then you may find yourself having to spend £20 on a taxi back... But believe me, it's worth spending that money to avoid the artificial club scene in Bed Bar.

Regards

Another one bites the dust. Not many pubs in Woking anymore.

To break away from my usual Friday night routine of too much bed, not enough sleep with the missus, I came here last Friday night (Feb 11) to watch the band Sould Out. For my 2011 Woking night out debut, I was most impressed with bed bar. Arriving at around 9.15pm, it was free entry with no ID issues from the belligerent bouncers. We were served straight away at the downstairs bar by the attentive member of bar staff, where a Magners and single vodka lemonade came to around 7.40.

The band was excellent and there was a host of different age groups of people in here, with the atmosphere relaxed. I later paid 5.50 for a bottle of Corona and a coke, so as with the drink prices above, make what you want from that if anything about the prices of drinks in here. Only popped upstairs to use the toilet, though it seems lively enough and there is even a balcony section for smokers!

Overall, a decent enough bar in Woking with late drinking and I would certainly come here again even over going somewhere in Guildford - on a Friday night for instance.

This place looks great, but... I wouldn't say there's too much else to rave about, the music is usually alright, particularly a couple of the live bands, and some of the cocktails are nice (and cheap early on). Other than that, the bar staff aren't hugely friendly (even when quiet) and the general atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired. I'm happy to pop in occasionally on a night out but wouldn't want to stay for the duration.

This bar is a playground for kids who are just old enough to drink and the doorman know this as they are fireed up for trouble every opening night, you can never be comfortable here nor can you be safe. The staff are just arrogant excusing the rare one or two who can be quite friendly. All in All I would recommend to stay away.

Policeman kicked in the face trying to escort two 17-year-olds out of here last weekend. Local press if full of it. Hmmmm...

Terrible place, dont go there!!!!!!!!!
Lucycurls - 15 May 2010 21:45
Agreed johnclarke88. I think this place is great though i can understand why proper beer drinkers would find the selection frustrating. It doesn't have a lot of draught beers, just fosters and san miguel on tap i think, though there's nothing wrong with the quality of what they do serve!

Obviously it's designed to be a cocktail bar and nightclub and it does this brilliantly. I suggest to people who are looking for a relaxing real ale in front of a fireplace that they try somewhere else, but for those who fancy sampling cocktails and thrive on live bands and DJs this is definatley the place to go in Woking. peace x

Great live bands and DJs, new groundfloor club is a great addition, not a great selection of beer but then again it is a cocktail bar! The best hang out in Woking without doubt. Classy and friendly atmosphere unlike a lot of other bars and clubs in the area.

Seems to be growing rapidly in popularity over the last 3 months. Have been visting regularly for about 12 months, it seems that everyone else has now started to realise that this is the place to go in Woking!

Staff are arrogant and full of themself... this is kinda the pits if ya ask me.. beer is no good and the place smells bad must be the cleaning products they use.. up itself and tacky. No good beer on just lager.
BigAleDrinkhead - 31 Dec 2009 13:25
Just virtually opposite the train station this large bar has perhaps a bit more class about it than Chameleon for example. However the staff are not always the friendliest and I can't help feeling this is just another place where youngsters especially like going to get very drunk. No real ale as you'd expect.
JohnOcean - 14 Dec 2009 12:36
Decent bands play here every Friday. Beer is nothing special but worth a go.
Desperate4Beer - 12 Dec 2009 17:21
Boring as hell
PubWithTheGrub - 13 Nov 2009 13:02
Actually it is not that bad a bar - the drinks range is lager, with the likes of San Miguel and Fosters on tap but some other bottled beers tucked away in the fridge. Mostly i've encountered friendly people working here and would be back. The themed events are a bit hit and miss but occasionally worth a go. Really more of a young persons place than an older persons.
BestBeerBoffin - 7 Nov 2009 16:03
Cheap and busy but has a small selection of drinks. Also, beware the bouncers as they habitually abuse their powers to pick on customers for their own amusement.
jon2 - 19 Sep 2009 13:48
somehow misses a trick or two as this place could be a classy bar but unpleasant plastic smell everywhere. poor.
BestBeerBoffin - 23 May 2009 16:46
Smells Vile. Awful beer.
somewhere2drink - 3 May 2009 09:25
Cheap, plastic smell I must say when walking in the other night. The venue is in an ideal location and the place itself is spacious and clean. But people don't come here, it is always dead until the late night drunks arrive. Because the beer is bad, this is not a proper pub at all just a late night money grabbing merchandise.
PubMessenger - 28 Mar 2009 20:28
Not good. Over-priced and whats with the silly Black and White new years eve bash? No good beers really, polish lager better than Fosters and San Miguel i suppose.
GuildfordAndWoking - 26 Dec 2008 16:14
Its not how it used to be. Has become a cheesey, over-priced venue.
TheSurreyPubMan - 13 Dec 2008 11:47
Well, the venue itself is clean, smart and everything. But a terrible choice of beer. No ale at all.
BigAleDrinkhead - 1 Nov 2008 16:13
Its not really somewhere to chat up girls. Its more of a place you'd take your girlfriend to, somewhere where you won't be swamped by idiots too. Better than Chameleon, RSVP, Yates etc
TheSensiblePubReviewer - 25 Oct 2008 09:57
They do quite a few theme nights. More upmarket than Chameleon.
BestBeerBoffin - 19 Sep 2008 10:23
Chat to all the girls eh Mr? Anyway kinda smart and cool inside, drinks are not too clever, interesting Polish lager on offer is ok
TheSurreyPubMan - 24 Jul 2008 15:12
Trendy bar downstairs with live music, salsa and guest acts some nights. Great nightclub upstairs with outside smoking terrace. Best venue in Woking by a long way.
charliejuk - 26 Mar 2008 00:57
strange place neither club nor pub and a very dodgy vip area
hermiek - 25 Mar 2008 21:15
