Very pleasantly surprised by this pub. The new management should be congratulated in their efforts to get this pub back to its best. Friendly, helpful staff and reasonably priced drinks. I went in on one of their Friday music nights (in fact, I think they possibly have music on every night of the week!). I saw a great band called Polaris who went down well with the sizable crowd in on the night. I shall be returning for more music and beers.

Yes, nothing wrong with this pub as far as I'm concerned. I like to go in on live music nights. It's good to see the new tenants make a great effort to build this pub up again. Give it a try.

went there sat night and had a great time. The live music was very very good. The bar staff were also very good, friendly & quick to serve. And the mood was superb. But OMG the toilets, 3 of the 4 urinals were out of order with the 4th overflowing in the gents, and dryers out of order in the ladies, not good.

Never went in July 2011, there seemed to be a real ale on looking through the window, the pub appeared clean and repainted from the outside

The Prince Regent has re-opened and what a complete let down.

Heard the landlady who had been there 44 years had to give up due to financial difficulties. SHAME ON YOU ENTERPRISE INNS she probably paid for the place 10 times over with the kind of rents you charge !! Damn shame so sorry for all Family and staff involved.
Good Luck to the new tennants you got a Massive Task fillin them Boots !

Just visited tonight . . . WOW !
The comments previously made seem very strange ??????
Drinking Guinness, beautiful pint. I must say there was no live music but there is a live act on sat night. The licensee was very friendly as was the member of staff. The Pub has dramatically transformed due to a redecoration carried out by the licensee himself ( must have been mad ! ) but what a lovely , bright and comfortable bar to relax in. Talking to the Licensee he mentioned the toilets are still in the process of being redecorated But they were still clean ! Nice ambience with 2 pool tables both being used and a very good musical choice on the juke box. Will be returning during the week to see what else has changed.

Was a cracking pub about 7 years ago attracting live music and a really busy weekend turnout with bouncers on the door who refused entry to ANY young scrote in groups.Sadly it been taken over and your lager (no real ales!)by tracksuit wearing Scousers.I wouldnt go in this place agin due to the rudeness of the staff, dirtyness of the bar and toilets.

Popped in at lunch time, this has to be the dirtiest pub I have been in for a long time if not ever. The gents looks like it has not had the floor cleaned for a couple of years and smell the same, ladies same.
All the carpets are way past their use by date both in the bar and other areas.
The John Smiths was smooth cold and OK, just a quick half.
Hope this helps the licensee to see where improvements are needed, really just trying to help.
