This is a strange one.
I went there about 6 months ago on a Thursday night, to find just two people in the bar. One of them was the barman, a track-suited type, who along with the other punter were smoking at the bar. Both pleasant enough, but still a tad shocked to see this.
It may have changed since then judging by the postings below, but will need to try again when I'm in Tonbridge next.

New to the area so tried a few locals. This one is nice.Good ale and very nice bar staff. Really needs food and a sunday roast.
I dont smoke but the smoking area looked inviting.
Will be going to this pub again.

Great pub with great beer. New landlady is a gem. She is friendly and smiles a lot. The locals are friendly and chatty. The open fire is a welcoming feture in this old and nice pub. well worth visiting. Greaat Harveys

Well, I used to drink here when I was younger. The geordie who ran the place (Now working at the Cardinal's Error) was welcoming and friendly, and as long as we kept out of the way of the locals, we were alright for a few pints. Having turned 18, I'd not gone in here for a while until the other week, when I met the new owner for the first time. What a rude, nasty cow! I was surprised at how rudely I was "greeted", with a massive scowl and a grumpy tone. I would guess she's like this every 28 days or so... The husband (who reminded me of Cletus the incestuous Texan from the Simpsons) was just as cold. Unless the pub (which is nice inside and serves a good beer) changes hands again, I don't think I'll be visiting.

Under new management, with a young couple in charge. No noticeable changes to the place and the Harveys was still spot on.

Nice pint of Harveys in a pub that looks like it should be out in the countryside somewhere - which, given its apparent age, I guess it was (if you go far enough back in time) - rather than suburban Tonbridge.

Nice old white weatherboard building with a pleasant country pub interior. Although now slightly spoilt by the monster TV in the corner.
Beer is always well kept, with Harveys always on. Punters are rather local, however not as overtly unfriendly as those who frequent the Somerhill down the road.
Worth dropping in for the decent pint if nothing else.
