Now closed and boarded-up. Though with the population of the UK at a record high just where are ordinary people meeting nowadays? Answer - they don't, loads and loads of people now just watch telly at every available moment.

I have lived in the area for years but have never been to the Sydney. I was suprised to find a perfectly decent local NOT the grim pub suggested by nrj746. Yes, it is a basic local but I felt perfectly at home here.

Imagine having to go to a pub whose custom comes from high rises or council estates. Nrj746, you are an idiot. It's a couple of years since I've been in here but it was never grim, threatening or unwelcome.

Perfectly normal old-style local. Everyone seems to know everyone else. Decent Guiness, no real beer.
You can smoke outside if you don't mind the traffic.
