Now called Turtle Bay.

I thought this was alright despite modern bar style atmosphere. only 1 ale available in Bombardier.
EyeOfTheTigerBeer - 30 Jun 2012 17:17
It is what it is - really expensive beer, think Guinness was 4 a pint. There is two real ales in T.E.A and Bombardier, but the cheesy music is loud and off-putting even in the afternoon. No more than 3/10.
DrinkingJoeFrazier - 14 Aug 2010 09:56
I'm going to break the trend. Visited for lunch the other week and the food was actually pretty decent. Drinks are expensive for a session, but not the worst i've seen by any means.
drinkers_paradise - 18 Apr 2010 17:26
S-ut and legless as they all are. They did actually have a real ale on (Bombardier) even if they did manage to 'forget' the food for one of our party. The chips were ok and the pasta was reasonable though.

Boring.

Typical chain bar.

Acceptable as somewhere to go for a drink as its spacious.

Crowd on Fridays and Saturdays are not always the best bunch.

Not worth eating as I would not trust the food at somewhere like this.
best_pub_in_city - 21 Jun 2009 19:35
0.2 out of 17 come on this is worst pub on bite?
BestBeerBoffin - 23 May 2009 17:08
typical bar and what do u expect from a chain pub 2 be honest? it is not exactly a crap hole that would be unjust but it is not good if u want a good honest pint or anything like that. i think there r 1 or 2 beers worth having in here but that is about all. im not a lager man as u can probably tell at the end of the day. over priced, food is acceptable on visit but its probably worth off than somewhere like wetherspoons and a bit plastic in truth. i'll give it a 1 mind u it deserves better than 0.

A place I try to avoid if at all possible.

I have been in here twice on a Monday lunch time. No drink taken, but a coffee and some food. They have a half price food promotion on a Monday!

A soulless place, but not the worst in Guildford.
alexw123 - 11 Nov 2008 14:22
I'll give it a 0 too.
BigAleDrinkhead - 1 Nov 2008 18:09
Wow, such a low rating. Indeed I visited this place now, and i'll keep up the fun and give it 0/10. Mainly because my pint of Fruli Strawberry was as much as 3.90. It was also virtually clear of any customers apart from one very weird guy dancing. 0/10 from to people? Someone surely likes it.
BestBeerBoffin - 16 Sep 2008 17:37
There seem to be one or two of reasonably competent barmen but all the waitresses seem to be purely ornamental - and that's only if you like Peaches Geldof clones.

At one point on my last visit several customers were wandering about like little lost souls looking for help whilst most of the staff seemed to be having a fag at the front entrance or loudly slagging off the kitchen staff to the bar staff.

I never thought i'd say this but I preferred it when it was RSVP!

I think this is a first!!!! Total 0/10,am i wrong are there other places with a low rating like this?
ThePilgrim - 9 Aug 2008 15:02
Surreypubman, you'll find the 0 review from everyone so far proves this is terrible.
TheSensiblePubReviewer - 8 Aug 2008 10:58
Lighten up Mr Reasonable, at least it is big, spacious and 'reasonably' clean. Did you get my pun?!
TheSurreyPubMan - 5 Aug 2008 22:12
Looking at the comments below it`s not surprising to learn that the whole chain ( Yates,Ha Ha bar etc.)are in receivership, watch this space.
ThePilgrim - 2 Apr 2008 15:47
To add to previous comments, its generally speaking overpriced, I can understand what other people are talking about. It is worth the occasional drink however - as its a big area, seems to be more of a place to visit in groups.
aleman - 8 Mar 2008 18:25
Probably a bit harsh chopin! But fair enough for your opinion. Food tasted ok to me.
anonymous - 2 Mar 2008 10:55
Should be 50% off meals
chopin - 24 Feb 2008 00:21
The Daily Telegraph are for some reason giving away vouchers offering 50% of meals at nearly all slug and lettuces.
Considering the sh!t they serve here and call food I would expect to be paid for eating at this chain of pubs (and they'd have to pay me a hell of a lot to do so)
chopin - 23 Feb 2008 23:46
It's strange how one Slug and be so different to another Slug. I took my wife here. Comments about staff socialising with each other are true. The worse thing of all...THEY DON'T SELL BITTER... I will not return to this Slug. Godalming has the nearest Slug from here. Same food, same prices but they serve bitter and the provide great table service. Someone let me know when the management have been changed. Because at the moment, it's more like a work colleagues social bar.
dcdevil69 - 8 Feb 2008 12:16
Can`t be arsed to wait for a drink went some where else (flew to Hong Kong)still got a drink quicker than in here.
ThePilgrim - 24 Jan 2008 16:04
Pooey.

The staff are only interested in socialising with each other and customers are a pesky annoyance who cause massive inconvenience by wanting things all the time.

The mahoosive lamp shades are worth a visit, but go some place else to eat and drink.
beaniebeer - 18 Jan 2008 12:26
Alright once you get served. As you'd expect prices are higher than your average pub.
aleman - 12 Jan 2008 17:30
